By far the best restaurant we have eaten at in upper Michigan! Not only is the food made fresh and made from natural and organic ingredients when possible you can tell that everything is made from scratch.
It’s clear that the owners, Matt and Lisa, take pride in their restaurant and have passion for great tasting food. We would highly recommend stopping by and experience it for yourself.
From nice thick French toast to great barbecue burgers, including gluten-free options, and not to miss made from scratch pastries, there is something for everyone.
We came here for brunch but didn’t realize they completely stop serving breakfast items at like 11:30, so my son (small child) had a hard time trying to pick a lunch item when he thought he was getting pancakes. We all ordered and my kids got lemonade. Well they said it tasted funny and my husband tried it and said yeah, it’s like the bag is empty or something, so we said something to the server and she just asked if they wanted something else and took the old ones away. My oldest and myself, we ordered the BBQ burger and mine had everything on it, but we didn’t realize until he had finished that they left off the pulled pork, the bbq sauce, the onion straws and the bacon, pretty much everything. And at that point he had already eaten it so we couldn’t say something. But that sucks. I overheard the server tell the table next to ours they ran out of onion straws, so maybe they ran out and never said anything to us and still charged us for the entire burger. My husband got the bleu cheese burger and they didn’t put the bleu cheese on it! Like what the actual heck. Normally we would write a place like this off completely for these things, but maybe it was an off day since the other reviews are so good. My little kids got the kids cheeseburger and they were bloody, you should not be cooking kids burgers medium, ever. They should always be well done. The food was good and for that reason we’ll be back to try again, but the server pretty much ignored us, as she seemed to be the only one working. She was serving, seating and bussing tables. When we walked in, the lights were off and she didn’t even greet us. Just looked over at us and kept cleaning tables. We waited maybe 5 minutes before being acknowledged. It was very strange. I’m cutting her a break because she seemed to be the only one, but if it happens next time we go in, that’s not good. Also, the decor has the potential to be super cute, but the wallpaper is falling off the walls, which needs to be addressed, it’s not kitschy, it’s gross.
Chef Matt is a genuine and kind Culinary Artist that stirs emotions on your taste buds, in every bite, from the moment you smell and see the presentation, to the finish on your palette. The BEST Chef in Northern Michigan! Thank you my friend! Your restaurant and everyone who works there, are an absolute treasure to the community, and anyone who has the opportunity to treat themselves to an incredible meal from your kitchen. Just WOW.
Don’t know how we’ve never heard of this place before. We were able to stop in today and have to say this is probably the best breakfast/lunch place in Roscommon/Higgins. The staff were very friendly as an added bonus.
We stopped in for a late breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. The menu was diverse offering a variety of unique food options with very fresh ingredients and a creative twist. I had a breakfast sandwich with house made fry bread and loved it. Our waitress was great- fast friendly service and she was very helpful with suggestions on how to order our food. The atmosphere was cute and comfortable and the chef made his rounds checking in on everyone. We would highly recommend!
One of the best cafes I have been to in northern mi. Nothing better than the chef personally coming table to table to show his new creation of breakfast food. He also asked what we thought of everything and was just a wonderful person.
My food was great, I had a side salad that was amazing, it was a basil vinaigrette that was so fresh and delicious! Bacon and sausage was great!
My son killed his Mac and cheese and loved it! Usually he is picky on Mac and cheese but the chef delivered!

Chef Matt did a fantastic job on our food! Everything was fresh and well made. The staff was so kind and fun and Chef Matt checked on us multiple times to make sure we were all satisfied. Great service, wonderful food, beautiful people! Definitely would go regularly if I were in the area more.
If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out! Breakfast is delicious! Everything is homemade. The quality of this food is something you don’t find very often especially up north. Breakfast, brunch, or lunch, you can’t go wrong. And the Chef came out to check in with everyone about their food. Super nice guy with great service and food to match!
