Best WLM Reviews

Well we finally managed to get to Beaver Lake Bistro to try it out. We were pleased with the food and service both. Our party had the sausage pizza, the Split Personality burger, the Mahi Mahi fish and chips, and the grilled Salmon.
The fish and chips were done just right with crispy coating and flaky fish. I liked the texture of the Mahi Mahi in this dish. The chips were lightly seasoned and fried just right. I am not a fan of coleslaw so can't really rate theirs.
The burger was half sausage and half Angus beef. Had a great flavor and was quite good. Juicy and not overdone.
The Salmon was done nicely. The thin edges had a little char from the fire grill, but the rest was juicy, flaky and flavorful.
The pizza had a hand tossed style crust and was cooked just right. Was a 14" size.
What happened? Went here for a date night, after going through reviews and menu online. I was excited to try something new nearby. The menu wasn’t what I had seen online. There were only a few things on the menu (nothing fresh). The food was fine, for freezer section stuff. There was only one guy working there, but only a couple customers and the food is quick-cooking stuff, so service was fine. I had high hopes for a nice date night meal close to my house, but it wasn’t at all what I expected. “Bistro” it was not.
So a bit about this place.... The front doesn't scream 5 star eatery. However, this place has the absolute best food. The service is good. The food didn't come out the fastest but well worth the wait. It is fairly new so they are working through kinks. I had the 12oz new York strip and it was cooked absolutely perfect. And presentation was great. They have 2 separate eating areas. One is "fine dining" and other is "casual." Both use same menu. Again don't let the out side give you false perception. Highly recommend!
We showed up pretty late on a night that they were (apparently) closing a little early (sounded like a holiday break?). They were still happy to take our order and the food was SO good. Highly recommend the chips and salsa for a starter.
What a yummy chicken sandwich with homemade onion rings with house made honey mustard. We both really enjoyed the special tonight.
I hope the new owners update their menu on the website as well as FB page as they don't match.
We will definitely be back.
We are new to the area and this was the first restaurant that we visited since moving here. Unfortunately, the food just was not good at all. I ordered the fish tacos. The fish was extremely dry. My wife had the fish and chips. The fish was flavorless and had a stale/reheated texture. My son had the kids order of chicken strips and ate a bit of chicken and a few fries, but then asked if he could just have an apple instead. Everything was just disappointing.
We also found it strange that it was posted on the door of the restaurant (and mentioned on Facebook) that masks are required to enter the restaurant. However, the workers and I were definitely the only ones wearing masks.
I vacation every year at Beaver Lake and am always looking for a restaurant where the entire family can get the food they each want. The Bistro’s menu has something great for everyone. The Jammers appetizer was yummy. Burgers are 5 star and the fries are out of this world. The pizza hit the mark and we all had some. It’s big! Entree’s are well worth it. A steak with two sides and a big salad. Outstanding. I can’t believe this place has been open only a couple of weeks. The staff is attentive and a really nice wine list made our visits memorable. The place has a Great Lake vibe!!! We are going back tonight to try more of the menu. I wish we were still going to be in town on Saturday when they have live music.
Nice place to enjoy and relaxed meal. Service was on the slower side for what we ordered, but it's a fairly new place. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. Food was pretty good. I had the fish and chips, it was ok, but it's hard to get fresh fish in nwa especially when you're from the PNW. But the fries were amazing. My wife's burger was cooked really well. Next time we eat here I'll try something else and if it's as good as I think it will be, I'll change it to 5 stars.
Keep up the good work. Im happy your in town.
