The Beacon bar and grill was long time hangout for locals until it burned down a few years ago. It has now been rebuilt and slightly expanded and is still called the Beacon. The bar area appears almost exactly like the original Beacon so those who remember it may be happy to see the bar and pool table still in the same arrangement. The expanded area is new and has a small stage for live entertainment from time to time.
Food is good and reasonably priced.
The best country fried steak ever! You MUST try it! Nice portions and perfectly balanced flavor.
We tried the French toast...yum! The cinnamon crust is amazing. The pancake, fluffy. The breakfast steak was delicious!

I used to and still still do (less now) travel for work. So I’ve had a few burgers. The Gibson burger ranks near the top. I wanted the works on it, but I was recommended to get it just how it came. And boy was it tasty. The musician in the room was also very talented making the atmosphere great.
Great breakfast spot! They hosted our large group for breakfast in the side room without any notice. Food was good, very reasonably priced, good service. The owner came out to check on the group, which was a very nice touch.
This place is delightfully comfortable. You feel right at home in a room full of strangers.
All the food is great, but the French toast is next level!
Ordered an appetizer before my food and it came out with my actual food instead of before. Ordered fried chicken and it was bleeding and had raw batter on it. Sweet tea was disgusting. They were not apologetic about it at all and just wanted to make me wait another 30 mins to get my food while my partner would have to sit and wait on me. Would not recommend and don’t plan on coming back.
Went and had the fried chicken, it was only Luke warm, got it in about 15 minutes after ordering it. So I don't believe it was freshly cooked, if so it should have been hot, and the chicken was really dark, my waitress was nice and friendly.
We had double burgers with onion rings and they are the best around. They are moist and flavorful not dry little hockey pucks like the other place.
