This was my first time here. I am from out of town.
I ordered a Roast Beef Sandwich on Rye with Mayo and a side of Cole Slaw. First of all, who puts Mayo in the middle of a sandwich? Looking back, I should have asked for a side of Mayo once I got into the sandwich. Prior to placing my order, I asked if the Roast Beef was rare. The gentleman behind the counter said it was pretty red(which is what I wanted). It was not. The meat was rather dry and was slightly pink. The bread was good. The Cole Slaw was okay. They may have some other menu items that are good. I would not recommend the Roast Beef. It's definitely overpriced.
Really enjoyed the food and the service here. Had pizza and some Philly cheese fries. Place was pretty packed and you can watch the cooks put the pizza in the giant oven. Sadly no tossing of the dough in the air while I was there though. Saw an awesome rooftop area but I believe it was closed because of weather. Bathrooms had no signs or markings making them tough to find. All in all a pretty awesome place with good food and service.
Everything was so good! Highly recommend the fontanini apple panini and the tiramisu was amazing.
Also tried the fabulous Irish cream cappuccino :)
Cute place. I had high hopes since they claimed to be an authentic NY deli. Yet they had no matzo ball soup, knishes or stuffed derma ????. The lobster bisque was runny with no lobster pieces and the corned beef was undercooked. The chocolate and hazelnut mousse was pretty good. I have friends who love this place so I'm willing to give it another try
Food was very good and the desert selection is impressive. There is a weird little "robot" that comes around to the tables to take your dirty dishes that was kind of interesting but ultimately more bothersome than helpful. Definitely a good lunch place.
A very wide selection of Sandwiches, Paninis. Pizza, Bakery Items, and Gelato. The Paninis we had were very good. Order at the counter and your food when ready is delivered to the table. I wish Basilico had restaurants in Northern Virginia.
Found a bunch of mold inside my pastry… ????
Makes me wonder how many of their pastries I’ve eaten that I couldn’t see inside were moldy…
This is the one in Stafford, It busy for a reason, the food taste good and I hope they keep it up. I am impressed because for many years in VA I could not find an eggplant parm that was not over fried and burned or with bad sauce, plus not over cheesed.Pizza is good my family finished it. It is first time there was a good place other than the same old fast food restaurant , I am not comparing it to fast food - it is much better but you get your food fast. I am so happy.The price is ok. I will update if anything changes.
Update -
I see there is one in Fredericksburg too. Pastery is over price - I tried the cannoli and it was over priced and ok not great - the shell was soggy/ maybe make it fresh per order- or maybe cut a piece of cake per order so it will not be dry- just a suggestion. I will still go there for the food, the coffee tastes good to me, it was not bitter.
