Had to make a trip from GA to FL to try this one. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere, they went over the menu and what they recommend. Heated up a crab platter for us and got a smoothie!!! Best combo ever! I had to sit in the parking lot and eat the crabs… no way I was driving 3 hours smelling those crabs lol
The full was extremely good except for the potatoes was not fully they were very also they should hire some other people to take orders because it seems to me I calculated on the average people spend $20 in that place and they lost a total of eight customers that could easily been close to 160 bucks and the weight was more than 30 minutes just to even order
The seafood is amazing and the staff is friendly , food always good , the only place in Duval to get your monies worth. Favorite fry crab is here . They have the best fried crabs in Jacksonville.
I have only had the crab trays, but they are always fresh. I don't have to worry about getting crabs with a weird taste or texture. My sister said the same when she told me about them. I assume their cooked food is good as well. The seasoning on the crab trays is also on point. I bought their garlic butter this time. I put a little on my finger, and it is on point!!!! Great sea food, well seasoned and tasty. Off the beaten bath, obviously a locals place to go to get a good meal. Passing by and stopped to ge a surprising good meal of clams, hard boiled egg, a 1/2 potato, corn on the cob. Prices super reasonable.
From my experience, the food was very good (see pics). The price is comparable to today's market so don't dine if you whine. Food was fresh and buttery tasty.
I went to Baron's Crab Stop yesterday and purchased a jumbo crab tray, a small crab tray and a large shrimp tray. All my previous trays from this establishment have been great until yesterday. Although I asked for spicy seasoning on all trays they didn't have enough seasoning on them to even taste. The crabs in the small tray tasted old and the shrimp were definitely overcooked. Never again I spent over $80.00 on substandard products.
Recently tried their jumbo snow crab combo with garlic butter and it was absolutely delicious. The flavor of the crab mixed with the garlic butter is very addicting. I recommend getting is spicy. The staff are very friendly and seemed to really care about providing great food. The atmosphere of the place was very clean and organized. If you are planning on stopping here also get their slushies they are super tasty and refreshing. They paired perfectly with my meal.
