Such a wonderful local hangout. Great food, great service, great people. Some of the best burgers around and a big variety of options to choose from. I love the fact that they bring your food out AS SOON AS ITS DONE instead of letting plates sit under the lamp until the whole tables are done. That makes a huge difference. Drinks are reasonably priced 2. Can't ask for much more.
This is a neat downtown pub, really liked the environment almost reminded me of Cheers a little bit! We came here for lunch and dinner then drinks one day while traveling here. The staff didn’t let our drinks run out, were timely and had personalities and made all our experiences very enjoyable! It was just what we needed. When we come back here this will be our go to! Excellent bourbon selection too! Have a lot of good stuff there! Thank you!
Stopped there on our way back from NC. both my wife and I had the burgers . this has to be the best place that we have eaten burgers . I live in Hampton but I will drive there again to eat. the burger was fantastic. first it was hand made on sight and it was very thick 1/2 pound and the flavor was over the top it tasted like it was cooked over wood. just great. the service was also great. I will drive the 20 or 30 minutes to eat here again. the fries and onion rings were also just as great. over all just the best I have eaten in awhile.you will not be sorry stopping there to eat. loved it
This place never fails me with great service or food! it was all amazing! meatloaf special was surprisingly really good, and the burger was out of this world!!! i’d recommend to anyone and i’d certainly like to give Tiffany a big thank you for taking care of my grandmother and i while we were there! she’s such a great server and is quick to all your needs!! definitely shall see you guys again!
Suffolk Christmas parade. Had one of the best scallops & fried oysters. For a long time. It's not bad for a place nowhere near the water. But the scallops were big, plump, very good size meal. The pizza is great. Their Ble burgers are awesome. Baked skins are great also. Fried onions need help. They need the oil to be hotter for the fries and a pinch of baking soda to the batter. Also, the fries need it more time in the fryer. They were soft fries. We requested Krispy fries. Happy hours 11am-7pm wow.
Bathroom they need a patrician wall to separate the toilet to the urinals. I think they need another set of restrooms. Not enough of toilet for the number of customers according to plumbing code 2011.!!
We have always heard great things about Baron's Pub and finally had the chance to visit them yesterday!! The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were absolutely amazing!! 10/10 recommend!!
When opened our plates and sat down to eat within minutes of arrival, we noticed that the lettuce was brown, the oysters were spoiled and rancid and the tuna was hard as a ???? brick!
My husband and I are fairly new to this area as retired Army Veterans and well traveled. We have supported and frequented this small restaurant business for approximately a year since moving here. The food is generally ok, when cooking at home isn’t an option. To their credit, our past orders have been acceptable with the exception of one other time that our order was sub-par and they did replace it. On Friday, we ordered 2 blackened tuna salads and 2 oyster salads. We used Door Dash and they arrived on time as the tracker predicted. When opened our plates and sat down to eat within minutes of arrival, we noticed that the lettuce was brown, the oysters were spoiled and rancid and the tuna was hard as a ???? brick! Due to a recent surgery, and much going on in the moment, we opted to trash it and eat some soup and crackers instead for the evening. I took pictures, so that when I was ready to address it with the manager/owner, they could audit their kitchen, being fully aware of the quality of their current stock. My husband called them on Sunday, to speak with the owner and Katrina suggested that we speak with Mike on Monday. We did, and here’s where a simple apology, and an order rectify, went completely down hill and off the rails. Mike was condescending, hostile and entitled to be right in his tone on the phone, blamed Door Dash, even though they were on time, said that they have a lettuce shortage, implying that rotten lettuce was ok to sell, blamed the rancid, rotten oysters on a delayed shipment, implying that rotten ones are ok to sell when fresh isn’t in their stock, blamed the rock, brick hard tuna on us even tho we always order medium rare and topped his act off by yelling at us over the phone when we didn’t allow him to disrespect us verbally. He didn’t want to return our money, told us to take that one up with door dash, said he would remake the order and insisted that we eat oysters again from his kitchen. We declined and asked for a replacement fish, to feel somewhat vindicated. Hesitantly he agreed after finally understanding his risk and liability and our desire to not get food poisoning from his kitchen. My husband picked up the replacement order and he MIKE was as disorderly in person also, yelling, boisterous, tantrum filled…
We threw the replacement order in the trash because, judging by his hostile, entitled demeanor, we don’t trust his intentions with preparing anything for us to eat.
We Won’t EVER Order From Barons Again. And all referrals are retracted.
My husband has been begging me to try this place for years, so, we went for his birthday a few days ago. The seating selection was pretty difficult for a family of five, but that wasn’t a huge deal. We ordered our dinner and it took a really long time to come. Once it did, my husband had to wait even longer for his. When his steak finally came, it was very overcooked. By this time, the kids were fussy and I was running late to work. We let the staff know that the steak was well done (he asked for medium rare), they offered to remake it, but since I was running late to work we just didn’t have time. He was super disappointed in his birthday dinner. I tried everyone at the tables food and most of it was pretty decent. I wasn’t particularly impressed, but maybe if we went back sometime we’d have a different perspective.
