Thank you Barney's Drive-In !! I'm loving Waseca's Midwestern welcoming nature. The manager or owner was so lovely. He gave us honey/vanilla ice cream as a lovely 'welcome back to Waseca after 22 years away' gift'. And how's the attention to detail? He brought two spoons out to the car ????.
Great food and root beer! Everything tastes super fresh, the burger and hand-cut fries were amazing, and the honey vanilla ice cream is to die for! The new ownership is doing a great job and I'm excited to eat here this summer!
we are nice people and we always liked Barney's, but today when we went it was inexcusable, the waitress got our order wrong. she went back in to fix it and came out with a bag that was supposed to have our fries and coleslaw in it. we made an order to go because we were tired and we really needed a good meal out today. then they said we were undercharged and came back to our vehicle a third time and charged us for the french fries and coleslaw that didn't get on our order at first. after that we got home and opened our bags and they didn't even put the coleslaw in that they had charged us for. the french fries and the hamburger were horribly greasy and the root beer float certainly did not taste like a Barney's root beer float. this meal cost plenty too we did not return it because we just couldn't handle any more aggravation today. we will never go there again. I have never written a review like this but I think people should know because they need to improve their food it must be a lot less greasy the root beer float has to taste like a root beer float, my husband's wrapper is solid Grease. that was from his hamburger and he said his french fries weren't done and they were very greasy. I am sad to make this review.
They have the best cheese curds ever! Coney dogs and fries were also delicious. Root beer floats were not too impressive. The service was friendly, but definitely took longer than I expected.
Have visited this drive-in many many times, unfortunately this is probably our last. More employees inside, than customers. Yet it took an hour to bring out the correct order. Over charged with food we didn't order, confused employees, and definitely not delicious food. Unfortunately the covers on the to-go rootbeers did not fit correctly, and repeatedly fell off causing quite the sticky mess in our car. Hamburger under cooked and very pink, onion rings freezer burnt, brought out our rootbeer float completely melted a solid 20 minutes before the food and without a straw. Noticed the table near us were having issues with their order also. We gave up. Best of luck to them, not the drive-in we remember.
30+ minutes to get two burgers and fries.
There were two patties. One was well done while the other was almost raw. This was our first and last time at this establishment. They were not busy when I was there.
We were very excited to finally be able to eat here, after months of waiting for it to be open.
We definitely won’t be coming back any time soon.
The cook forgot the cheese on my girlfriend’s cheese coney, and the employee didn’t want to come back out because it was lightly raining.
My burger was literally raw, and the worker laughed when the wind blew their tray into my girlfriend’s very expensive SUV.
They also forgot BOTH of our Cole slaws, which was the entire reason why we ordered the baskets.
The drinks had as much root beer on the outside as they did on the inside, and probably tasted identical too.
Amazing food! Everyone was nice anf respectful, and the food was fresh and delicious. If you're in the area I would highly recommend stopping by.
