This place was surprisingly amazing!!
For all the barbecue places that are around this area, most are Carolinas style and very vinegary. This. Was. Not.
Absolutely incredible brisket, rivaling stuff you can get in Kansas City.
Fast, fast service. Yes, it's BBQ and it's been cooked and sitting there the whole time. But this was still super quick.
You want food BBQ? This is it!
The first thing that I noticed when I walked in was that I wasn’t acknowledged at all. There was a waitress at the front talking to the cashier but neither one of them said anything to me when I entered the restaurant. (That should’ve been a sign to leave) No type of greeting. I noticed the waitresses didn’t really have anything to do as they were just standing around up front talking to the cashier. The barbecue was not good. The restaurant opened at 11am and I got there around 11:20am and noticed some of the meats was DRY. The ribs were hard and dry and the BBQ pork sandwich was chalky, dry, and tasteless. I tried adding 2 cups of sauce to help the sandwich out but the chalkiness was hard to get pass. Maybe they served me old meat from the night before because there was nothing award winning about them. The only thing that I can say I did enjoy was the green beans and baked beans. The tea was even weak tasting. Being from out of town I used Google to find this place and that’s where I guess I messed up. For $70 I was expecting more from Carolina BBQ.
I understand BBQ can be dry at times but, for a restaurant to not even be open 30 minutes and have multiple dry meats is not a good look.
(UPDATE AFTER BUSINESS’S RESPONSE) I gave a honest review as a tourist that frequents the area about the restaurant and was bashed for “not showing grace”. It’s obvious that no business can be perfect but, your cooks should know that if meat is so dry that it won’t pull apart, DO NOT SERVE IT. But this business did hit the nail on the head when they mentioned that “they cater to their regulars” so 1st timers just try with caution.
First time trying this restaurant. I was really looking forward to it. I ordered a platter of 3 meats and 2 sides. Ribs, bbq pork and beef brisket. The brisket was so dry it would barely cut with a knife. The pork was also very dry. The ribs were alright. Collard greens were fairly good. The only good thing was the server, Rocky. He did a great job. The food was poor.
Friendly, family oriented Barbeque place. Plenty of booth seating inside. Outdoor seating as well. The wait staff was quick and helpful. We were there at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. The pork barbecue was the best. BBQ beans, potato salad, and hush puppies sides were good. The brisket was fatty. Large hunks of fat, not as much meat on some of the slices. Suggest you ask when ordering for leaner cuts if this is a concern.
Brought the family and a big party... Got to sit right away. Wait staff was amazing.
I came because they said they had Texas style brisket. Having grown up on TX BBQ I was super excited.
What a let down. Bark on the brisket was super thin, and lacked in full peppered flavor.
The meat was dry and it was clear it spent too much time in an oven and not enough time in a smoker.
Picture taken will show the lack of moisture and flavor. This was a dry disappointment. - where is the smoke ring? That thin line is all the smoke it got ????
Have you ever had brisket from Texas?! ????
Great tasting Bar-B-Que served by very polite, friendly, and customer service oriented servers in nice ambiance at a very reasonable price along King Highway in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Wow, this was perhaps the best BBQ that we’ve ever had! Yes, it was that good. We decided to dine in and seated ourselves. Our waitress came right up and took our drink orders. She was also super friendly and helpful in answering any questions we had and giving recommendations. We decided to try the BBQ pork sandwich and brisket sandwiches with sides and hush puppies. The sandwiches were delicious and flavorful, coupled with the sweet BBQ sauce they had on the table. The sides were also all amazing - we had no complaints about the sweet potato fries, French fries, Mac and cheese, and corn fritters. We also tried both types of slaw, and agreed the red slaw was best on a sandwich and the yellow slaw for a side. While we didn’t care much for the hush puppies, everything else was fantastic. Even though it was a decent size portion of food, we finished it all. Highly recommend you try this place out for some amazing BBQ in the area!
Visiting Myrtle Beach with long time friends (40+ yrs) and looking for local restaurant. Our friends come to the area several times a year and this was their hearty recommendation.
Came in mid afternoon, parked right up front and seated right away. Our great server, Rocky, was quick with drinks and suggestions. I was very happy to see among the bottles of sauce an Eastern Carolina vinegar sauce.
My wife took the suggestion of Sliced Brisket with fries and white slaw. Our friends picked Ribs and Pulled Pork sandwich for her and Chopped Pork with Beans and red slaw. I decided on the Chopped Pork with okra, beans and white slaw.
Our food came fairly quickly, just enough time for me to walk around the place and take some pics. Everyone loved the food. Our friends were right! My Okra was hot and crispy and Pork was wonderful. I just added a bit of hot sauce to the vinegar sauce. Slaw was great, hush puppies hot and delicious.
Rocky kept our drinks filled. The meal with ribs and sandwich was large, as were all the “small” plates, so half came back to resort. When you walk in the entrance you are greeted by a wall of awards for their BBQ.
Great service, delicious food, great atmosphere with movie posters all around, definitely worth the visit.
