Ed Jackson and his lead tech Evan are 2 of the smartest men ive ever spoken to about mechanical work and with their hourly rate so low they will always stay busy ive recommended hundreds of people to them a++++++ they put the tires on my truck as well as a heater core a blower motor blower motor resistor thermostat and gasket and oil filter seal. Any shop in olathe or gardner or Lawrence would have charged me 4000 for all of that ed got me out the door for around 2500 amazing!!!

Looking for an honest mechanic? You FINALLY found one! After being screwed over by another local mechanic we thought about taking our business out of town, but luckily we heard good things about Ed and Baldwin Automotive and decided to give them a try. He found a way to save some money on the repairs and passed that savings on to me! Our bill came out to be $400 less than he quoted me! Ed and his team went above and beyond, not only in the work done, but also on the customer service side. He was very friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable! He took the time to explain EVERYTHING! We had some hiccups with the timeline, but I understand that life happens and he didn't dodge the phone or lock up his shop to avoid me like the other local mechanic (ahem, 56 Auto). He was open and honest every step of the way! We have already scheduled more repairs. I am so glad we finally found a good mechanic!!! Thank you, Ed and team!

I got stuck in Baldwin City and was at the mercy of the local auto shops. These guys treated me great. Courteous and fair. Highly recommend.

First, I'm only commenting on customer service. I can't review workmanship because I didn't get that far. I'm sure the mechanics here are great.

I had an appointment for a simple tire patching on a flat tire that I called in several days in advance. After arriving on time I waited 15 minutes before another gentlemen came in saying he had "Just called about a flat tire and I'm parked in front of the bay." The receptionist, knowing that I was next with an appointment, allowed this guy to go ahead of me. He was out in 30min as I continued to wait. After him, they started work on another car that was not mine. I waited over an hour and nobody thought about my car.

So I just left. I know days can get busy but this is why we schedule appointments, especially when people have to take off work during the day for them.

Thank you to Ed for his terrific service on rotating and balancing my tires and dealing with a faulty sensor. I especially appreciate that he DIDN'T try to sell me a new set of tires just because the manufacturer recommended it. He's sure I have one more year of wear in mine but when I do need new tires next summer, I know who I will trust to replace them. Highly recommended.

I cant say enough good things about this place. Best place in the area (in my opinion) to have your vehicle worked on. I feel he is 100% honest with you. He has went way out of his way to help me get my vehicle on the road. He is a remarkably talented mechanic. He is not a “let’s try this, and see if it fixes it”. Kind of guy. All his help is top notch as well. i always like to stop by on a hot day with a box of ice cream treats. or lunch time sandwich or pizza. Just to say thank you for a job well done. never once have I been unhappy with service.

I recently had a transmission line replaced in my older but good condition SUV. In between Lawrence and Ottawa, the line came detached from my radiator. The car started smoking and I pulled off the highway at a lucky exit just ahead. It was over $200 for AAA to tow me back to my hometown and the closest shop was BCASC. First of all, this happened on a Friday night and I had to just have the tow truck leave it there all weekend. There ended up being no issues with that and the shop was really nice when I called first thing Monday morning. They listened to me as I had identified what I thought was the issue when the car broke down (found the loose line). They first tried to pop it back in but it wouldn't go...so they called me and we decided we better just replace that line. When they did that it still wouldn't go. Ed (I believe that was his name) stated that his tech scoured the GM literature and found out what my mechanic had missed (understandably). They had to replace another small part when replacing that line because the part had been updated! BCASC only charged me for that small part and didn't even charge me for the time spend replacing the line as that small part was the whole issue with fitment.

This place was a godsend when I was stuck on the highway an hour from home. They were way more than fair on price and the communication was great and service fast. I appreciated the explanation as well so I knew what went wrong on my first fix. Honest and skilled mechanics are the best.
