For Orinda, this place checks a lot of the boxes when it comes to standard Mexican fare and covering the basics when you have a major taco/burrito craving. It's a very plain neighborhood joint, no frills seating and decor, but there is a TV that usually plays whatever is the main sporting event of the day. Also you're there because you're hungry and you need ???? in your belly stat. Burritos are a solid B (nothing will blow your mind but you will leave feeling stuffed and happy).
Food was decent Mex Cali fare.
Order at counter for table service.
Server forgot tortillas with dinner plate.
I asked once and he said hang on a minute.
Waited 15 no tortillas.
And radio was too loud to make it comfortable environment
Folks were friendly enough but my burrito was a bit on the salty side. The music was also a bit loud. Plenty of parking outside and the shop is located in a cute town.
This is our families go to for tacos and other Mexican food yummys!! I love the tacos Americans with ranchero chicken. We often get our order to go and eat at Orinda park across the street. It's a small restaurant, so seating is limited, but we usually always find a seat. Mostly indoor seating, with a couple tables outside. They also have tvs so you can watch your team while you enjoy their food!
Great little hole in the wall location. Food was good, the seasoning of the food is more Central American than the American Mexican food we see most often. Loved the deeper earth tones of the food.
We both enjoyed our burritos immensely, and the customer service was wonderful. I would venture to guess it was the owner serving us.
Parking was okay, music was too loud for us.
Otherwise a very enjoyable experience.
This place is absolutely disturbing. Prices are silly high for what you get. Very rude staff, really strange. Girl at counter was on FaceTime chatting to friends when I arrived to get a part of my order they forgot to include. Failed to resolve the issue with any professionalism. Forget this place. Go to Comelones Tacos instead.
Not an allergy conscious restaurant. Placed a takeout order. The person who took our order was slow and clueless. Instructed them that there was a cilantro allergy in our order and they told me that wouldn’t be an issue. Got cilantro in my burrito. Will be standing by with my epi pen….
This isn’t your 2am after the club fling. This is the real deal Holyfield. This is the burrito you take home to meet your mother. It’s the type of burrito that your father would be proud of you dating. Enjoy every bite…skip the guac and make your mouth talk !!
