Best WLM Reviews
I called ahead on a Monday evening and the food was piping hot and ready when we arrived. We dined in and they gave us some really great bread. The food was delicious ????. I am glad they have some Islamic decor and halal food certificate as well!
The food is Middle Eastern, but other Middle Eastern restaurants in the area offer better food, service, and atmosphere. Waitress's first day, so lots of mistakes. I ordered fried kibbe balls even using a picture from the menu to confirm, receive raw lamb at $22, which they did not offer to remove from the order. Refills were slow. Ordered tea, received Lipton tea bag in a cup for $2.50~. The store outside decorations are torn looking quite ghetto. Bread came out with one piece steaming hot and all the others cold. Once we let them know, they brought out hot bread from then on. Lentil soup is good, medium thickness. Staff informed us new owners took over about two years ago.
I was told that Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) comes there every year a few times before Christmas with his girl friend.
Update: owner replied to the above initial review. Appreciate the quick response. I informed the staff multiple times about the issues and incorrect dishes that were ordered. I forgot to mention the three small meat pie dish was good, though it did not match the big photo of a large meat pie posted on Door Dash (I came literally to try the large meat pie). Maybe there is no large meat pie, that could be on me, but if there is I'll stop by again to try it. Also forgot to mention they were out of grape leaf dishes (second reason I stopped by). The new waitress knew nothing of the menu so I recommend training her on the menu as soon as possible, she could not answer any of my questions, even one about what type of tea do you serve. Definitely should train before putting her to serve customers. Overall this restaurant has the potential to compete with others, recommend removing the torn decorations outside, a clean brick wall is better than window covers that look like they survived a hurricane. The coffee pot left at the table should be modified with more bend in the pouring tip, found it challenging to pour without spilling everywhere (trick was pour fast and stop fast but customers won't know this by default).
General tip is for restaurants with dishes in another language, having a photo menu for every dish would greatly assist both the customer and staff taking the order. Then I would laminate them and keep them stored on each table so customers can explore the menu while waiting and eating. Noticed you have a lot of wall space, placing high quality large photos of your best dishes on the walls would also help guide customers on what to order. As soon as the customers sit, the waitress should automatically bring hot bread to the table right away with glasses of water. We had to request water. Low volume cultural music or coffee table music should be playing in the background. Noticed many dishes were served, staff should regularly check the table to remove any empty dishes so the table does not become crowded. These small changes would significiantly improve the customer's experience. Heck even post photos of staff with Daniel Radcliffe from his visits would be pretty cool.
I will return to update my review, look forward to a better experience.
*Fresh Delicious Food* *Nice Clean Atmosphere* *Friendly Staff* *Highly Recommended*
We go here when we're in the area and absolutely love their food and would definitely return to this location again in the future.
Last time we came we forgot something on the table, so I called and they set it aside for us to come pick up the next time we were in the area and we got it back without any issues thank you very much.
After moving to Virginia, I have missed Badawest! The new ownership has kept the recipes but added a real fire oven to make the most delicious bread that comes out hot and fresh from the oven. Everything is absolutely delicious! The owner is super nice! Thank you for sharing you wonderful food with us.
Basic atmosphere, but VERY good food each of the 10 or so times we’ve been here. The pita bread could use some improvement. It’s just cold flat bread in a plastic bag, but aside from that we love it.
Best Arabic food in Genesee county!!!! I have been coming to badawest for many years. I enjoy every bit of my experience. Their food is well prepared, very authentic and taste delicious. They have new owners but it's the previous owner Mike's brother. I have never once had a bad experience here. The staff is friendly and their food is absolutely amazing. Everything from their chicken shawarma sandwiches, chicken galaba, hummus, with or without lamb, I always get their house salad and the lentil soup. They even got a new bread oven!!! so the bread is fresh and poofy!!!! They bring out warm bread and garlic with every order. And they even have one of my favorite drinks guava juice. They have slightly remodeled the place and put in a fountain. I went to lunch with one of my friends the other day. we had not been there since they reopened and I was a bit scared at first. But they have the same menu so I got to just order the usual. And mmmm was it as tasty as ever!! It's a small family owned restaurant and it is worth the visit!! Best Arabic food in Genesee county.
JESSICA JESSICA JESSICA If you're the owner of badawest then WHOA!! Your professionalism is disturbing. The fact that you were so defensive and deflective when I called because I wasn't happy with my sharwmas because they were very dry and unflavorful. WOWWW. I wonder if your staff called in today because you're such a horrible person to deal with. Again, the meat was dry and unflavorful, the carrots were hard as a rock and cut into thick chunks. When I told her this she didn't even care because it was fresh in her eyes. Newsflash people do make mistakes and orders can be wrong. Try fixing the problem instead of being a problem!
I’ll never recommend or eat at this place again. I got about one small spoon full of chicken with my “chicken hummus dinner,” for 15 dollars not including tip. Rip off.
Update. If I could give zero I would. The hummus was cold and soupy like water was added to get more for their dollar. I’ve never had Mediterranean be this disappointing.
