During my recent appointment, I arrived and was promptly offered a chair to sit in. However, I ended up waiting for quite a long time, approximately an hour and a half, for someone to attend to my hair. Another client and I struck up a conversation to pass the time with some small talk. Unfortunately, the owner seemed to become increasingly irritated and upset by our chatting. Surprisingly, she refused to do my hair and displayed a rather unpleasant attitude. It almost seemed as if she had a fluctuating mood condition. Due to the owner's behavior and attitude, I cannot recommend this place. Moreover, the establishment could benefit from some cleaning and tidying up.
I am so satisfied with my braids. I've been looking for a hair braiding shop that is professional and about their work. I recommend this shop you will not be disappointed.

I’ve been coming to the salon for almost two years they are extremely professional and welcoming. I always get my box braids done by them. The braids are neat and they last a very long time. They have always insured my desires are met. I dislike heavy braids, and I haven’t had an issue with any braids that I’ve gotten here. 10/10 I recommend that you book with them I promise you will not be disappointed.
Agnes and Sophia have been braiding my hair for about 4 years. Both of them always does an exceptional job braiding my hair and are sweethearts. They are professional, clean, punctual, and provide a relaxing salon experience. I also love that they take good care of my hair (they have growing hands).
The atmosphere with these wonderful ladies are amazing. Feels like you are at home!!! Been getting my hair done since 2017 from Back to Africa braiding salon. When my man came to pick me up he sent me back in to give a extra tip.
Amazing customer experience, called and received a same day appointment. Upon arrival, she immediately brought out samples of different braid styles, colors, sizes, and techniques that they offered. Washed and blow dried my hair prior to styling. In and out in 5 hours with a beautiful and painless design. Exactly what I'd asked for, attentive and engaging stylist, a beautiful shop with comfortable and inviting atmosphere. So if you're in Virginia and want your hair braided right - Back to Africa is the place to go. Would give you 10 stars if I could.
I have been going to this salon for YEARS. I took a break and returned today and it was just like I never left. The owner remembered me and asked about my family. We started on time and she made sure she had the size and color I wanted correct. Very professional and timely and that's appreciated so much. Highly recommend!
