Best WLM Reviews
The food was great, and barbecue sauce was amazing. We drove by on our way to the Cherry Hill mall and saw the smoker going. We had to stop in on our way home. We were not dissapointed, definitely give this place a visit.
I had the mac and cheese, and coleslaw which were ok. The mac and cheese could have done with a little more seasoning. The smoke-fried wings were great. But, the brisket was extremely salty, dry and inedible. The customer service was amazing, the young lady was doll.
The portions are very generous for the price.
Ribs were good.
Cole Slaw was edible (will not order again)
Greens were good, but tasted like they had sugar in them.
Coconut Cake was Delicious.
They do not have fountain soda, only 20oz bottles.
All of my food was absolutely delicious..I like my collard greens more savory than sweet. The collard greens had a touch of sweetness. My Mac and Cheese was scrumptious. The ribs are delicious and a hint of smokiness. I will definitely return.
Place was very clean inside and staff was wonderful! I had the sausage “gumbo” which was more like some kind of thick tomato sauce on top of rice and meat (nothing close to gumbo)and it wasn’t good. Rice that came with that was still raw and hard. Collard greens were not good either. Banana pudding had no bananas and was just box pudding you can make at home. I can’t speak on anything else on the menu but as far as for what I purchased the food was a 0/10 but staff definitely was a 10/10
Stop here because we smelled the smoke while driving by. I only wanted the meat (brisket and ribs), but they had a special that had sides to. I had to be honest that I wasn't too fond of the sides (greens and yams), but the bbq meat was PERFECT! The sauce they made was good, too. No, it was not overly seasoned... they let the smoker do it's things. Another thing I LOVED and will be going back for was the HOMEMADE POUND CAKE! The BEST pound cake I've had in a while, and they give you a huge slice. Meat and cake I will recommend any day! I BE GOING BACK!
I had the pulled chicken and brisket(with the vinegar -based sauce!) combo. Everything was delicious. I've had bbq in the south, but this was the best pulled chicken ever, it had a unique smoked flavor. And the portions are huge. We'll be back!
I’m ONLY giving 2 stars because the first time I ordered from Back Alley, the bbq was AMAZING. The food was so good, that I immediately recommended many friends in the south Jersey area. Last night I placed an order, and the food was extremely inedible. First, they missed an entire 2 platters, 4 sides and sent me green beans and baked beans that tasted like they were straight out of a can. Seriously, the $.36 pork n beans in the can would’ve been better than those. Mac n cheese tasted worse than the cheap box. Chicken was NOT seasoned at ALL. Ribs were mostly insipid bone, and pulled pork was dried out on soggy cheap white bread. On top of that, the bbq sauce on the side was watered down! I can’t rate the other items as they were missing from my $60+ order.
My dog now has food for a few days because I simply couldn’t throw it all away.
I do NOT recommend.
