Best WLM Reviews
Hidden gem. Great home cooking rotating specials. Wonderful owners. All you can eat buffet. Blueberry cobbler was the best. Nice quiet place for comfort food. 4:30 on a Thursday and everything was fresh and delicious. There is just enough food selections and sides for a nice dinner out. I saw a few reviews complaining about only three bars for food, or dry, or atmosphere. Its a country buffet.. How much food do you need to eat at one sitting?? Be quiet and eat whats in front of you. Come back the next day and try something else.
This is going to probably be one of the newest reviews. This place is great. The service is amazing, and the food taste really good. The yams and baked chicken were really good. At the same time, there’s a very home like environment that is super clean. Also, 13 per person including the drink was a great deal.
First....the server was super nice and attentive and deserves 5 stars. With a recommendation on good food nearby, we tried it. 2 stars for the salad bar. I would have given the salad bar 3 stars if the lettuce wasn't swimming in water. I'm not sure whose home cooking this is, but certainly they never used salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder or any seasoning at all. If water was an seasoning this is it. The food was extremely bland and while I have never been to jail or a nursing home I am sure they taste better. The collard greens taste like water if water has a flavor. The Mac and cheese did look like Mac and cheese but had no flavor of cheese or anything else other than just plain macaroni only. The fried chicken had an extra extra thick crispy crust that was ok. I ate the crust on it. What was really weird is that most items was swimming in some sort of watery liquid that didn't seem to be what they cooked it in....but maybe they did! I love small mom and pop restaurants but this one missed the mark. The fried fish was weird. It was thin. Which is not the issue and had a slight coating, but how does fish even taste like sea water but no fish taste. The yams had to come from a can and taste like only cinnamon but where was the butter and nutmeg...but I ate them since I was there waiting for my friend to eat a salad.
I say try this place and give them some business, but bring some Lawrey's seasoning salt and whatever other seasonings with you unless you are on a bland and no flavor diet. This place was underwhelming, the food didn't look appetizing and showed a lack of effort in food preparation for the price.
Years ago we stood in line for a seat for as long as it took. Now food is just so so. Not bad but not the food that brought us in before. Don't think I will come back. But service and workers are great
Oh how I enjoyed my Baby Jane’s Home Cooking dinner with my sister earlier this week! As we stood in her business pondering where to dine one evening, I offered a few half-hearted suggestions, but I had no real palate for anything in particular outside of the fact that I was hungry. “Girl, let’s go to Baby Jane’s,” my sister said, smiling.
My brows furrowed. “Baby who?” I'd never heard of the restaurant chain, if it even was a chain.
“It’s the best. Don’t worry. You’ll love it.” She was already packing her bags to head out.
Our sisterly chatter was delightful, as usual, as we made our way to McDonough. When she pulled up, I discovered the building and the parking lot to be quaint and homey, almost as if we were pulling into a relative’s driveway.
The cashier greeted us with a warm smile and cheerful conversation. It was a plus so far for me. We walked past several buffet showcases, and my sister chose a table in the back. Then we headed to the first bar!
I didn’t think it could get any better. I quickly filled two plates with colorful food and parked myself at our table. To my joy, everything that popped into my mouth was scrumptious! From the vegetables to the meat, from the fruits to the salad, all was delicious, deliriously so!
Jae came over to our table and shared the splendor of his role at Baby Jane’s. He was the absolute best! Not only was he a divine chef, but also he was an awe-inspiring conversationalist!
Folks, get on over to McDonough, GA, and delight in a wholly savory, fresh, colorful, and wonderfully seasoned meal! Tell them Claudia sent you! ????
buffet was just right for the price.. lady was so nice she still gave me lemons since i cant afford the lemonade lol but i still gave her a tip
Not necessarily a bad experience but also pretty underwhelming. Only three bars - two are hot and one is cold. We arrived at 12:20 and there was almost no one here. The rice and hush puppies has definitely been sitting on the bar for a while and the rice was crunchy, while the hush puppies were very squishy. The meatballs had good flavor but were a little spicy. The corn and the sweet tea were pretty good. The salad bar was decent. Overall, the food was alright but nothing to write home about.
Jade was incredible. Incredible customer service experience, was attentive and patient and CLEAN IN THE PANDEMIC!!!! Checked our temperature in an non-invasive way and served us everything we wanted! The food tasted home cooked (just as stated) and they openly offered us everything we wanted. Our server was so kind and outward and got us whatever we wanted as well! Jade invited us back and said he would give us the same treatment!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
