This place is worth the wait!
One of our favorite breakfast spots.
I only wish my husband looked at me the way he looks at the sticky bun there. I don’t blame him though, it is damn delicious.
Everything we’ve had there has been amazing. Waffles sweet and savory, benedicts, salads, breakfast specials and drinks… all great!
The patio is my absolute favorite place to sit on a sunny summer morning.
I've been here a couple of times for breakfast/brunch and both have been amazing experiences. I cannot recommend the chicken and sweet potato waffles; the flavor profile is so intricate and interesting in a very specific and creative combination I have not found anywhere else. My partner also really liked this flavor. The interior is pretty clean and comfortable, but there is almost always a wait in the mornings. Also, it can take a while for anyone to help you after you enter the restaurant. In addition, parking can be pretty bad on busy days. I'm very impatient; however, I wholeheartedly believe the amazing food at this establishment is worth any minor inconvenience. Prices are also surprisingly reasonable especially for the quality of the ingredients and meals you get. Their dirty chais are also great picker-uppers to start your morning, and they have good coffee options.
delicious food, friendly people with great service. was super busy as it’s mother’s day but was able to squeeze me, a party of one, in at the bar. tinga chicken tostada was amazing, not too salty with perfect amount of spice, wish there was a little less salad though. do be aware of automatic 18% gratuity!!
Had never been here before until today. It was pretty good, but there was one bummer. First as always, the wait for two was about 35 minutes, this was expected given the popularity of this place. The wait staff was very nice and attentive, from the hostess to about 3 different people that interacted with our table, all were very service oriented. The coffee was very good. So I ordered the salmon and avocado benedict, with potatoes requesting the potatoes to be crispy. The potatoes came out perfect, just as I like them. The benedict on the otherhand while tasty, was not even warm. More like room temperature, bordering on cool. It was still flavorful but a bit disappointing the salmon wasn't fresh grilled and even the poached eggs were cool. Very surprising at an upscale place such as this. My companion had a ham and cheese omelette they were quite happy with. There is an 18% service charge for all tickets regardless of party size which I didn't have a problem with given the service was good. Overall, good service, very attractive place, but the food was just alright, temperature being the concern in this case. I'd go back sometime for another chance, probably try something else.
Cute building with a decent amount of parking. Took about 25 minutes for my party of 2 to be seated. Plenty of seats to wait both inside and out. A sign on the table states the restaurant will automatically charge an 18% gratuity on all tabs. Fairly loud inside made it difficult to have quiet conversation. Many tasty choices on the menu. I ordered the corned beef hash, and my friend ordered a waffle sandwich. My corned beef was super fatty and was mainly potatoes. My friends waffle sandwich looked super tasty. She was very pleased. Service was OK, had to ask for water and refills of coffee. Overall, a decent experience.
A lot is made of wait times. What I found done well is the space they had for you "while" you wait. You weren't just standing out in the rain. Then it is worth waiting for? Everything about the food and experience was considered. From the ketchup (often just left to chance) to the ergonomics of the counter seats...and the height of the foot rail. This place is a strong philosophy and well executed plan from the moment you sit down. The bacon? Top notch....Coffee very good, eggs done perfectly and blueberry Amaretto jam. Who does that? Nothing pretentious about it either. Just good food, great staff in a cozy space. Well....cozy for a big place. Like I said, everything was considered. Nowadays people throw their hard earned money at any old place. This? This was a step back to a time when if you wanted to succeed in the food game you had give the customer a reason to spend that $$$ on your product. You had to deliver the goods. Babica Hen delivers and then some.
Really great cafe. I would avoid/be prepared to wait to be seated during the weekend.service can be real slow when they’re busy. It’s a nice perk that you can order coffee and bread while you wait.
The eggs Benedict, waffles, biscuits & gravy are some of my favorite entrees to order here.
Quite a wait, so check Maps for how busy when you go. Friendly service, somewhat forgetful (but quite busy) of spoons for coffee, milk instead of cream - just little things.
Nice cup of decaf Illy coffee.
Braised beef waffle was absolutely delicious; chicken waffle was okay, little too thin and overcooked, and way too sweet for us.
The 15% mandatory tip...tipping is discretionary and, if this is a necessary supplement to their wages, pay them better rather than pushing this to your patrons.
