B just did the best job on my pedicure! I wish I could upload a picture! While she was working, I started looking on Pinterest because I wanted a design, but not the same old flower, which is what everyone seems to offer. She did a dot design on my big toes and it literally looks exactly like the picture. This is also one of the only (the only?) nail place in OB that does the dip nails. They last forever and don’t damage your nails like gel does. I was skeptical, but low and behold she was correct!
GREAT location. Stop in for a manicure before dining or after a stroll along the beach. B's Hair & Nails Salon has NEW state of the art pedicure chairs and basins. Hard working employees. ASK for Lee ... She has been doing my nails for OVER 15 years. I try to arrive at least 30 minutes BEFORE my appointments so I can cruise in to a few of the eccentric antique shops along Newport Avenue. When I leave I try to drive down to the Ocean Beach Pier to check out the ocean and the people. The feeling is so refreshing; it reminds me of how blessed I am to live in San Diego. IF you go on Wednesdays, parking will be harder to find ... but well worth the effort ... because after your mani/pedi, you'll be right around the corner from the fabulous OB Farmers' Market.
B Nails are the best. Lee always does an amazing job. Has lots of patience for me. I been coming here since I was 15 with my mother, and now I come with my little one. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
Super cool place, got in immediately and my pedicurist Ms. Nancy went above and beyond on my basic pedi. Prices are straight out of the old days and with such a rad location I expected it to be more. $20 basic pedi with color. $30 fullset.
Going in to this place to get my nails cut and heels pumiced was one of the worst decision I ever made. I asked the gal that runs the salon if they sanitize their equipment. Let me interject the gal that was working on me didn't understand the question. The manager acted as if it was a stupid question. To make a long story short I developed a Keratoma on the bottom of one foot which took nearly a year to straighten out going to the podiatrist. It was cut off 4 or 5 times and finally I used a Urea compound cream Revitaderm everynight and the Keratoma sluffed off. And not as horendous as putting down all my weight on a growth on the foot (every step I winced) that was affected I also got a fungus on my toenails. They looked yellowish orange. I told someone whom said she gets a foot treatment often and she said to go to Nordstrom's or Macy's . This happened to a famous tennis player:after a foot treatment at a n Asian salon someplace back east she couldn't play a match that was scheduled. Those little shops with umpteen workers reek of factory tales you hear about in third world countries. I should have reported them to the health department... It was around 4 years ago. Walk in. A+ not a rush job. Both ladies were very meticulous in their work. Pedi massage was amazing! I figured I do my brows while I was there too. If only I weren't on vacay i'd be a regular.
