Whatever you guys do, don’t get the individual crochet locs! Awa did this to my hair!????????♀️Today is Sunday, she did this yesterday, Saturday...First of all, she scheduled my appointment for 1:30, I was on the dot! She started my hair not until 3:45. She could have called me and told me she made an honest mistake scheduling two people at the same time...Then on top of it all, she tries to charge me $150! No dear, you are getting $140 so that’s what I gave her... What she did to my hair wasn’t worth even close to $140 to be honest... You lie to me claiming you can do individual crochet locs and clearly CAN NOT, you take forever starting my hair when I arrived on time and then try to overcharge me for a mess! I do not recommend this shop to anyone because they are an unprofessional, hot mess!????????
First time at this shop. A big shout out to Fatima that braid my hair. She was professional and compliant in not braiding my hair too tight. Thank you. It was late and she was deligent and didn't rush the process. Very happy.
I called over the phone, super easy to make appointment luckily I called early enough to get same day.
One thing I will say, on weekends they only accept cash no card, so if you’re reading this I got you ;)
anyway got there they were very nice and welcoming. Miss Awa asked me and verified what I wanted before I was even started. Ladies were efficient and super nice.
Pros:
- fast, as soon as I got there they started working on me
- clean, spot was clean and when I was leaving I saw how they clean bathrooms and floor you can tell the ladies keep it clean
- braids, they cut the loose hair and they look amazing!
- great price, not overpriced
- location super easy to find lots of parking available
Opportunities:
- if you are tender headed DO NOT GET BLOW DRY if your hair breaks easy come with clean and dried hair.
- maybe having a sample of sizing of braids not everyone’s view on small medium and large are the same
Overall I would definitely go back.
Great location, great atmosphere, the staff is very polite and price is fair..back of hair photo is after me sleeping on it and possibly not wrapping correctly at night.. 100% recommend stopping by and giving these ladies a chance
I got my hair braided there over six weeks ago. Due to a family emergency, I’ve been unable to go back and complain. The young woman who did not my crochet locs—style was absolutely inexperienced. She damaged my scalp and left me in extreme pain. No one wants to take it out. All professionals say it’s been done poorly. I am thinking about getting legal advisement involved. She did nothing but cause bumps around my head and scalp. She braided my hair so tight that I ended up in the ER twice. Ask questions before going there. They will do whatever they can to get your money. I’ve left messages on their website and NOTHING. This was the worst braiding service I’ve ever received. Do not go there if you care about your HEALTH. Don’t get caught up in other good reviews. Trust me, they are HORRIBLE!
Great service. The braiders are all very nice. Would rate 5 stars but the AC has not worked my past two visits so it's been super hot in there which is uncomfortable. Think they are moving so hopefully next place will be more comfortable.
I absolutely love coming to Awa's Beautiful Hair Bar. I've been coming here for almost a year and any style I had rather it was Braids, crochet locs, and etc I always came out flawless. I absolutely love how professional and loving Awa and her girls are. They always made me feel at home each time I come there. Definitely check them out you wont be dissapointed. I am so happy to have found Awa's Beautiful Hair Bar.
Terrible service. I went to get large (waistline) knotless braids for $200 but instead I received shorter than waistline; large knotless for the same price. On top of that, it’s been 4 days and the braids are already loosening and when addressed, the only response I got was “ok and?”
Bad service and will never spend my money there again.
