My first experience here was awesome back in 2017. They do Great work. The length of my bang was my fault I later realize the plaits was poking me in my eye (lol) but I was able to adjust it my self. All in all I loved the style it was exactly what I asked for and I will be back soon.
I had an appt for 10am. I showed up at about 9:45. The shop was closed. Mind you the sign on the door says they open at 9:30 but I wasn't tripping because my appt wasn't until 10. 10 come around, no show. 10:15 come around, no show. 10:30 come around, now show. So I called. I go "hey I'm here.", the person replies "okay we're on the way." No hey, I'm running a little late, sorry for the inconvenience, nothing. I waited till 11 then I left. I received a call at 11:18 saying "Hey we're here.' I told her I left and that was it. The way I was treated was horrible and I get it things happen sometimes you run late but to completely have no regards to my time is insane. And I don't live in Tampa at that.
Highly recommend this place. I was seated immediately. I loved the outcome of my hair. Only thing I’d say is if you are tender-headed be sure to ask them to not be rough. She was a little heavy-handed but overall it’s fine. I definitely plan to return here for my next hairstyle! :)
I’ve only had my knotless braids in for three weeks done by Fatu and they look like I’ve had them in for 2 months. Parts are not straight, and some of the braids are lumpy. Never again. It was a rushed service. Everybody cannot do knotless. I’ll just stick to the black owned businesses for my braids.
This place was okay because , awa took like 2 hours to get to the salon she wasn't sociable but I assumed it's cause she's a introvert other than that she did a amazing job ! Had to pay a bit more too because my original price was 180 she said My hair too long . So I paid 220 for a micro braided bob and honestly she slayed period pooh ! ????
NOT FIT for Knotless Braids.
I requested knotless braids knee length. I received a quote the day before I actually got my hair done. The day when the owner started my hair she was very uneasy, which I can understand around these hard times.
Just a little education for these women. The average American makes $360 within 3-4 days of working hard. This is what I paid to get my hair done and it wasn't completely delivered. Keep reading.
The one thing I DID NOT like was the constant complaint of how long I wanted my hair and it being an American thing. The front of my hair is knotless but the back is whatever you want to call it. Some knotless some not. If you give me a price of something be sure to deliver exactly what I ask if you can't, tons of females do hair out of their homes and they do it good!
The small items I had in my bag I did not receive back and the customer service was not food. Sucking teeth because your upset about the length I choose is not something you do in front of a customer AND I was the only customer they had that day. You would be thought they would've been more accepting of whoever walked on their doors no matter what they needed. Please do better. This is the third time I've been to this salon and the first time the owner did my hair and because of the complaints I won't be back.
I was seated quick. My hair was very nice as expected and didnt take long. Only issue is them speaking their language and giving bad vibes like they are talking about the clients.
The african ladies there are a absolutely disrespectful. The lady brought her son to with her to work.her son is about 8 years old.I brought my kids with me .The lady son hit my 1 year old baby and threw him on that hard floor causing a big knot on his head.she told me next time I come to get baby sitter smh .I told her u get a baby sitter too next time.i waited 3 hours for the owner to come n which I had the appointment with.i got there AR 1030 a.m she didn't get there until 1 p.m smh very bad service and no respect from the African owner Awa and the staff.if u can find a better place go there instead of this place. They will talk about you in there language and they change the price after quoiting u one price.The owner get new braiders all the time and they be disrespectful as ever.i will never ever go here again.They bring there kids to work with them and there kids are bad there kids will hurt your kids if u take your kids with you.im taking my son to the hospital now to make sure he don't have a concussion from the lady son throwing him to the hard floor.she never corrected her son .DONT GO HERE.ITS A TERRIBLE PLACE.
