There's a good selection of delicious food and beverage items here. The service is awesome! I love the interior decor of this place! On the walls and the side of the counter are some plaques and newspaper articles involving airplanes and Midway Airport. Speaking of, the dining area provides a great view of planes flying over to land at Midway Airport.
Foods okay. Burgers are paper thin. The site shows items in pictures that don’t come the way they’re shown. Feels like false advertisement. Whether it shows fries in the customization box is irrelevant because the assumption is you get everything in the picture for the SPECIAL.
Been coming here since elementary days with friends, we would bike it here to eat. I’m in my 20’s now. Haven’t stopped by in year since the last time I came. Today I stopped by after work to get some ice cream with a friend, First thing that I was greeted to, “we can’t have bikes in here, you have to leave it outside” not even a hello or please. I would happily leave my bike out as well but if it gets stolen, then what ? I offered simple solutions, but was meet with more arguments about a bike ? Yet I’m a paying customer ? I offered can I just order ice cream and I’ll leave it in the patio, it’s semi locked up there or the corner section of the restaurant leading out to the patio and be the best out of people’s way if need be there was a sudden rush of customers. The woman at the register just wasn’t having it, and saying hoping the owner doesn’t call her complaining about the bike inside. Mind you it’s about 3 pm on a Sunday. I only seem maybe 3 or 2 other parties dinning in. Love the food, always got the big baby with grilled onions! But honestly after that I really didn’t want the ice cream anymore. We used to always be able to park our bikes in the patio since they didn’t put locks on before but I noticed today that it was a lock on the outside so I couldn’t really go through the patio and avoided this. Would love to have any feedback from the owner.
Update: with the response from the owner, will come back one day, and felt like a genuine response from Nick so thank you for hearing me out! I worked in the food industry at an Italian restaurant downtown Chicago and work in customer service (5 years to this day) I understood she was trying to do her job but compassion and understanding would’ve gone a mile.
It has been a long time since I have been back in Chicago. This was one of my go-to places. But that has changed. The food has changed a lot and not for the good. And now they have a walk-up drive-thru inside very hard to hear what the person is saying on the speaker. As the employees are standing behind the counter looking at you ordering. So I don't think I will be back in the future.
Anthony's been a SouthWestside Chicago Lamdmark for awhile now. It boast American Faire and it's still a b.y.o.b establishment if your not interested in the Beverage options avaliable. Find your favorite items bc I simply wouldn't have adequate space to type it. I'd recommend everything,but my taste palette and yours are going to be different. NO OVERKILL AND PLENTY OF PORTIONS , makes me a long time customer and I don't just say that I'm from the area so familiarity is given, but non exaggerated. Of course Being near a White Castles by MDWY Airport is kinda competitive, but I assure you they've got nothing on Anthony's Burgers and satisfying fries, I'll just Stop now so I can finish Chicago Classic style Dog. Stop in Checkout Anthony's and tell them Pauly sent you.
We had been going there for years,There have been several times the orders where wrong. They have a banner by the side door. Showing daily specials. Nowhere in that sign does it specify you need to be a member to get the deals. It cost $4.99 a month. Will not be going there any more. Prices went up and the amount of food is less,you have to pay extra for everything. I am trying to get a hold of the owners. With no success.
They charge extra for EVERYTHING now. No longer include fries with shrimp basket. No longer include wipes with messy BBQ meals. Service has gone downhill!
It seems that the long time customers are the most critical of what this place was and has now become. There used to be more menu options and higher quality food than what is offered currently. Normally I enjoy a slice of pizza, but not here. There are still things on the menu that haven't changed and are still worth ordering, but be ready to settle for just a "gut filler" rather than something really enjoyable, and that's too bad because everything used to be enjoyable. At least it's still open late.
