Autobahn Performance provides excellent service, and the team is very friendly and helpful. Shawn and Armon have worked on our Volvo XC and BMW X1 for many years, and Sheila runs the office. They always treat us like a friend when providing car service and advice. Recently, on a day in Ukiah when it was 109, my car wouldn't start. I tried everything but I couldn't figure it out. I called Shawn, and he immediately drove over to look at the car for me. It turned out to be a dead battery likely caused by running the a/c on high while making several stops without giving the battery time to charge. Shawn jumpstarted my car and charged it long enough to get it to start, called ahead to ask Armon to pull a battery from stock and have it ready, and let me sit in his air conditioned car to escape the heat. They replaced the battery as soon as we got to the shop for the cost of the battery and minimal labor after Shawn had spent all of that time with me.
Shawn and Armon are great diagnosticians and have tracked down several issues in our cars. They always have a smile and are great mechanics. Sheila is friendly and always tries to schedule us at our convenience.

Father +Son Shop mechanically restored my '74 BMW model 2002 to excellent driving shape after sitting idle in the AZ sun for 5+ years and a decade or more of service neglect. They are enthusiastic and did a thorough initial inspection of the car to determine if it was "solid" enough to warrant an investment of time and money. Truly smart mechanics, able to source quality parts, worked fast once parts came in, and the easiest to read and understand invoice I've ever received. It now handles the Mendocino coast and Redwoods roads like a new car - probably better!
These guys are super professional and caring. I wished my doctor was as caring about my health as Shawn and Arman were about my car. After having my car with the MB dealer service in Santa Rosa for two days, I decided to give Autobahn a try. As soon as I pulled my car in, Shawn and Arman checked under the right rear wheel of my car and told me that I cannot drive the car for even a foot because the suspension air spring had collapsed and fell sideways on the axel, which could have caused a deadly accident any time. I kept wondering why the MB dealer mechanic did not even bother looking under the car and still gave me an estimate for the repair.
Autobahn even checked the engine and other safety parts of the car. Price was reasonable and I would recommend taking any European vehicle for repairs to Autobahn. I even got to meet Sheila, who is really a nice lady. The shop is amazingly clean and impressively organized.
Shawn and his son are the best!! Thankful for honest good people like those two. Not having a clue what was wrong with my car (it wouldn't pass smog) they could have charged me an arm and a leg and my car still wouldn't be fixed but they didn't. They were extremely helpful. I really appreciate how professional they were, they were both genuinely nice men and they didn't try to charge me an outrageous amount. Hands down best mechanics I have ever visited!!
Shawn and family are fantastic! Very professional and informed about all the automotive news and journals. He fixed a clicking sound coming out of a motor mount of my 2020 Volvo S60 when no body else could including Volvo dealer, who denied hearing any sound. My Mercedes and Volvo will be happy to be serviced by you from here on!
Clean shop, awesome staff, and great cars. The vehicles around the shop were amazing, they're clearly very trusted by their clients. They're also using high grade tools which is always a plus. I came in for a replacement key which takes up their time and they don't make a profit from, but they were still super friendly and happy to help me out. Thanks guys, I'll definitely be coming back.
Stopped to make an appointment to repair.my ca. Mechanic came out yelling and using obscene language telling me I can't just stop.by. Try to say I was there to make an appointment and see if they would work on my car he wouldn't even stop yelling and cussing long enough to listen. I had previously talked to someone on the phone who asked me to bring it by to see what they would need but it had been over a week prior.. Won't go back even if it. Means I have to take my car to another town.
I hired bernhard to fix my car in february. It took him two months to replace the engine. When we got it back there were no bolts on the cvc housing, causing the car to breakdown on a dangerous corner of hwy 1 nearly causing an accident. Bernard admitted fault for this when we called him. We had to have the car towed back to him at our expense so he could fix his mistakes. Turns out he had to replace the transmission, which he did at cost to him. He calls and tells us the car will be ready and we verify the day we are to pick it up. We drive from leggett to come pick up the car, and find his business locked during business hours after he knows we are comming. Now we have to drive back to leggett to retrieve a spare key and return to ukiah again costing over $80 in gas. I would like to sue for gas, travel costs, and wear and tear on other vehicles caused by this fiasco. This is all due to neglegent business practice and poor business practice. He has cost me hundreds of dollars more than I paid for the original mechanic work, missed days of work, and 4 hours of travel round trip each time we have to drive to ukiah. DONT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!
