First off service was amazing. The food was just okay..... I will say there are way better hispanic food places in gainesville elsewhere. Just was not very flavorful and up to par with other mexican food places I have been to in gainesville in my opinion. Would I come back? No there are other mexican restaurants in the area that are better. Pictured is baja chicken burrito. Also pricey was almost $40 just for me i got a sweet tea(which wasnt all that sweet), a small queso, the burrito was $17...... plus a tip. Other mexican restaurants are cheaper as well.
So excited for the chips and cheese at Aurelio’s!
I really enjoyed our meal at Aurelio’s. Our server Paloma was so sweet and funny, the salsa here is cold, tasty and fresh. My grapefruit cocktail was awesome (and came in the most adorable cup) and our dinners were good.
A little spicier than some other local Mexican places I’ve been to, but very flavorful and good. I’m admittedly a wimp about spice and it wasn’t so spicy I couldn’t handle it!
My burrito loco with ALL the meats was delicious, every bite.
Food and drinks are average but service was really great for a large party. Definitely a strange atmosphere, they’ve got live music sometimes, which is nice, but also show QVC on TVs ????????♀️. Price point might be a bit higher than average for “cheap Mexican”
I've driven past this place a gazillion times and haven't popped in, but I was craving Mexican tonight and they're close to home. Best decision ever!
Service - Excellent! Not only was our waitress an absolute sweetheart, but I noticed other servers keeping an eye on each other's tables and clearing plates on tables that weren't theirs. Definitely seemed like a true 'team' of people who work well together.
Food- Amazing! I tried a new dish (Chile poblano) and was very pleasantly surprised by it! To clarify- it was new to me, not new on their menu. It was flavorful and very filling! I sampled my husband's Tamales Verde and I would totally order them for myself. They serve pretty good sized plates at a decent price (comparable to most other restaurants in this area). We left full and happy! Zero complaints!
Atmosphere- Perfection! They had live entertainment tonight - a gentleman with a guitar and music setup and he has such a soothing and pleasant voice. I could listen to him sing all night. He did lots of old songs that I wanted to sing along to but I had a mouthful of food. Lol.
This is 100% a place my family will return to. I think the singer said he's there on Friday nights, so I guess I'll make sure that's when we visit again. ????
We enjoyed our experience here. The taco salad was one of the best I’ve had. The salsa was a little too spicy for me but the waitress was able to bring out some enchilada sauce to help with the spice. We will be back.
I've eaten at this location 5 or 6 times, but sadly, it will be my last. I went in today and got the cheese steak (chicken) I specifically asked for no jalapeños in the cheese dip they put over the top. And I also.asked if I could get an extra small cheese dip. Being an older lady, I can't eat a whole one, and for $6 it's a waste for me to get it. The waiter came back and said the manager said no. Every other Mexican restaurant in Gainesville does this, they bring out a smaller dish and charge me 1/2 the price of a small dip. When my meal came out it had jalapeños in the cheese dip. I was halfway through eating when the waiter came back. I just sucked it up and ate a few more bites. This is the second time this has happened here. So, you lost a sale (the extra small cheese dip) and a customer.
I will say though, the staff was very friendly.
So far the best Mexican restaurant I've been to in Gainesville. I've tried several and this one did not disappoint! The food was great and I loved how nicely decorated and clean the interior was. Will definitely be returning!
We drive past another Mexican restaurant to eat here regularly. The staff is friendly, the food is always good, and the atmosphere is cozy and not noisy.
