Nothing quite like a meat and three for comfort food while travelling. I'd read review that recommended the fried pork tenderloin and the review was absolutely accurate... SCRUMPTIOUS!!
The sweet potato casserole and the corn fritters were also off the chart tasty.
Like most good meat and three restaurants, it's not a fancy place, but there's a little more satisfying than a good selection of mix and match meat and vegetable choices. And it's a nice stop to get off the highway for a moment.
We will probably stop by again when we're traveling to Atlanta again.
Food is hit or miss. If it is good, it is really really good. If it is not so good, just don't order next time you go!
Their Blackberry Cobbler is wonderful. It has a cake like topping rather than crust and I Loved it. The staff is Wonderful and yes, at peak times be ready to wait for some items on the menu!
It has been many years since I’ve been able to go out to a restaurant & sit down and eat. However I have wonderfully fond memories of eating at Aunt Effie’s. It was ALWAYS wonderful foods, good portions and incredible service. I only wish now they’d get set up with a delivery service so I could once again taste the country flavors of home cooking!!
I've loved the food here for years. When they shut down after the tornado, I and many others were heartbroken. it's great that they have come back for us. I do have my favorite dishes, but I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered.
This place was awesome. The fried pork tenderloin was fantastic. I had mine with mashed potatoes and fried corn nuggets. And if I'm going to make any suggestions on rolls or cornbread, it has to be for the cornbread.

Friendly people run Effie’s, and I’m telling you that they have great home-cook style food. Last night I had chicken and dumplings with a bowl of beans w cornbread and corn nuggets on the side. Great food.
The food was good, classic home cooking. Very familiar dishes that were well executed.
