Beef Yum Salad was Beef Yuck!!!
I ordered a beef yum salad a couple weeks ago and it was excellent. I ordered it today and it was absolutely terrible. No flavoring, no cilantro, no onions, no cucumber, no mint. I’m not even sure why they bothered calling it a salad as the only ingredient it appeared that matched the description on the menu was having beef.
It looked and tasted like they used a pre-packaged cabbage mix from a grocery store that had shredded cabbage, carrots and radish, mixed it with precooked beef and reheated them together in a microwave and left it dry without any sauce or dressing and absolutely no fresh salad ingredients.
Not to mention that last time it was in a regular size to-go container, this time it was in a small 5 inch size. For $12 plus tip, a complete waste of money and not even edible.
I ordered Drunken Noodles online and brought it home. I opened it and.... the food is not freshly cooked. The noodles look like it was cooked yesterday and also, the protein is Tofu. Well, the tofu is there and looked freshly cooked but... after eating it a bit, I realized and suspected, that there was an order for drunken noodles with chicken that was never picked up and put back into the container of drunken noodles. I was finding pieces of over cooked felled apart chicken in the food. Overcooked noodles and old chicken meat.... double yuck! I couldn't eat it and threw it away. I will never go back.
This place used to be a go-to for me. The best drunken noodles in the area, fresh and spicy with generous vegetables. And a clean setting with nice smells both from the kitchen and the adjacent donut shop.
Well, now the donut shop is gone and walled off, giving the place a sad and claustrophobic feel. And my last visit for lunch, about six weeks ago, got me an almost inedible mush of old gray noodles and a few limp veggies.
One guy working the kitchen and counter. You definitely get the feeling that this place is going down. Sad.
***EDIT in response to the owner's classy reply below. He appears to have me confused with another customer: one who dines in (I never did), who doesn't like bell pepper (I do), who finished his noodles (I didn't), and who is an "ahole" (I'm not).
But even though he has me mixed up with someone else, I will take his advice and not go back.
Straight from Convoy!
Really good flavors, not too sweet, tons of fresh vegetables
Nice people
And just like convoy, there’s donuts and bagels that look legit, I’ll be back to get some bagels next week
This is going on my regular lunch rotation
Edit:
Wow, try the Mongolian Beef
They really nailed it
Savory, sweet, and fresh, with a perfect hint of spice is how I would describe the drunken noodles I've had here. The noodles were cooked perfectly and all the veggies were fresh and crispy. Oh and don't forget to try their Thai iced tea, its really good. Their dishes are consistent and taste authentic.
Food was delicious and the portions are large. I ordered beef noodle soup and pad se ew. Both were enough to share with 2 people. The prices are very reasonable. I like the clean and modern atmosphere as well. Service was also fast and very friendly. The menu has a nice selection of items and I will be back to try more items for sure.
Some of the best Thai curry I have ever had! I absolutely love this places food, my only complaint is the drinks can be a little too sweet if you order the tea's but maybe that's just me haha.
I came in to get a dish called Todd Munn - spicy fish cake and they had no idea what I was talking about. Luckily for us, they also have a bakery and bakery had a crazy good assortment of all kinds of donuts and pastries. To make up for not having spicy fish cake, we got some pastry items which were absolutely delicious. So - I'm not sure how good the Thai food is, but the pastry and donut and is superb!
