The train cars smell like sour milk and excrement. Constantly having homeless bothering people too.
Here last year when Angle Lake wasn't open. Used the Link from SeaTac to downtown. Worked great. This year figured to to take it from Angle Lake after parking in the new ramp. NO SUCH LUCK. The ramp was full at 11am on a Thurs morning with commuters. What about visitors or locals? I think Sound Transit underestimated parking needed. So I parked on the street and hopped on the Link. Hope my rental doesn't get towed. Would've been 5 stars if it wasn't for the parking problems.
It was a beautiful cloudy day and I was catching the light rail to Mercedes Benz of Seattle. The only complaint I have is the ticket machines are only on the street level. So if you forget to purchase a ticket, you have to return to the street level to get a new ticket.
Clean and trash free station. Security was good and helpful.
I have been using Angle Lake's Parking Garage for the last three seasons with Washington Huskies football (along with some basketball games). I can't speak for the rest of everybody in terms of M-F traffic, but Saturdays have always been good. HOWEVER...I HIGHLY advise anybody who is going to a Huskies game pay attention to the schedule of the Sounders and/or Mariners, as the chances of getting a spot are diminished with another game on in town. I also strongly advise those traveling to Husky Stadium for a game get there three hours prior to kickoff.
One thing that has kept me from giving it a full 5/5 is the lack of a restroom in the garage. It's hard to imagine Tacoma Dome Station having a restroom (as dinky as it is) and this one without one. Closest thing to a restroom would be the nearest gas stations...
If you don't mind taking public transportation, and like free parking for a sporting event, ride the wave and take the link!
Agree with Robin Knorr, if you arrive here after 7:30 am there is zero parking available. Sat and watched nearly empty trains leaving the station because you CANT PARK YOUR CAR ANYWHERE. Gotta drop kids at school so can't get there earlier. How bout paving over the old abandoned golf course down the hill for parking and running a shuttle up to the rail station Sound Transit??? Heck you took our many $Billions$ to play with lets make sure people can actually ride the damn thing!
The link light rail is probably the best investment our taxpayer dollars have paid for in King County. Although it’s already convenient, the potential east link should at least go down to Renton since I know of many commuters who go to Seattle and Bellevue. Trains should be the priority in infrastructure from our taxes rather than adding more highways.
Can anyone tell me what time the Angle Lake garage fills up on Saturdays when there's a Kraken game? The games are usually at 7pm.
I love using link rail but it is hard to find a parking space after about 730! When garage is full there is no where nearby to park so that you can get on rail.
