Truly had a great first time visit at Anchor Bar. We stopped in for a quick lunch. Staff were speedy, and the food & drinks were reasonably priced and tasty. Really enjoyed Doc’s Fish & Chips. The cod was tasty, crunchy, and fried to perfection. Will definitely stop in again to try more on the menu.
One of my favorite long ago haunts! Didn't disappoint. So happy to see resurgence in Detroit!!
Hubby & I ate here after picking up his Free Press Marathon race packet. Pretty cool that it's located across from the starting point for the race.
Wasn't crowded, yet, so service was speedy. Our server was very helpful with suggestions as it was our 1st time there. Hubby loaded up on carbs while I had a chicken wrap with fries. Forgot to take food pics. ???? Everything was scrumptious, though. Will be back under "normal" circumstances.
Really cool place, love the lay out! Went here with some work colleagues, was a good time but the service was pretty slow and not to much smiling going on. A big part of going out to me is the experience, unfortunately my favorite part of this place was forsure the set up. I'd go back to this place but next time maybe go straight to the bar grab a drink and wait it out and eat my food right away because the tenders and fries got soggy quick.
Went to a private event here and was blown away by the service and atmosphere! Very clean, classic aesthetic with some modern touches. Drinks were excellent and bartender has lots of personality. Looking forward to coming back!
Some colleagues from work decided to meet up for happy hour drinks and appetizers. Food was amazing. Our table loved the bang bang shrimp tacos, and totchos. What also impressed us was the atmosphere of the bar and how personable the staff made us all feel. Shelby and Mark really stood out and kept checking on us. They were both very proactive and attentive to our needs which we greatly appreciated after a long day of work, we’re definitely coming back soon.
I came in for dinner and drinks tonight with some friends. We had a great time. We met Shelby and Mark that work there. They had great recommendations on what we should order and were very friendly. Everything we had for dinner was great. I will be back again.
Shelby was an EXCELLENT bartender. We were there for the Blake Sheldon concert and she single handedly made my experience a night to look back on in the best way. The drinks were perfection and Shelby was not only hilarious but also such a sweetheart. Will be coming back again.
