Best WLM Reviews
We have two aging cars and can’t recommend Alvis enough. They are incredibly honest and do quality work. That’s hard to come by these days. They have done a lot to keep our cars on the road for the last 10 years and we cannot recommend them highly enough.
They are so caring, and so awesome, honest, and fair. They spent DAYS making sure our car didn't have an electrical issue, didn't find any problems, and didn't charge us for the diagnostics! I recommend them more highly than any mechanic I've ever used.
Alvis is awesome - After getting it towed to a separate location and being told it could be potentially costly engine issues, Alvis took my car in and set my mind at ease. Not only was the cost less than I was quoted, but Alvis was able to get my vehicle done several days ahead of what they said it would be. Very very happy with the service, very friendly individuals too.
Great shop. I have taken my cars there for over 15 years and have always been more than satisfied. Also, I have referred others to Alvis Auto and they have been very happy also. Honest, hard working, and they don't take advantage of you.
I brought in my car a few months ago for electrical issues. They very quickly diagnosed it as bad battery and replaced it. They very generously did not charge me any installation fees outside the base inspection fee and I really appreciated that. I’ll be back in the future.
Overall, a very good repair/service shop. The price is a little higher than what you might wrangle at a "quick change" shop--and their refusal to take checks is a little frustrating--but they do good work and have the ability to make nearly any part repair on a typical consumer car. In 2 hours, they diagnosed a problem with the master cylinder on a Chrysler Town and Country, ordered the replacement, and installed it; this is not a minor repair, so it was a pleasant surprise to receive their phone call as soon as it was finished, the same day I dropped it off.
At the very least, they do great work on Chrysler vans, but I expect, given the variety of vehicles I see there, that the quality of their work won't vary too much based on make and model.
Over the years, I've had them replace my entire rear suspension, fix the breaks several times, fix the alternator, a fried air conditioner, the wiper motor, and my radiator thermostat. I've had no complaints. Prices are competitive and most repairs are done in a day after I drop it off. For major repairs, I still go to the dealer.
Great service. Reasonably priced. Fair and honest. Family owned. I've finally found a place that I trust to take my car for repairs. Best experience I've had in Athens for auto repair!
