Best WLM Reviews
Traveling through and decided to stop. We were very happy with our experience!! The food was excellent. Service was great despite nearly all tables full, and when one table would leave, it would get filled. Clean, fun, retro decor and atmosphere. Definitely recommend!!
Old Fashioned Drive up Burger place. Order through a speaker box, and the carhop brings it to your car : a Wonderful selection of burgers, Hot dogs, chicken or fish sandwiches. Great fries, real onion rings, great shakes, and of course, frosty Root beer floats.
Established in 1919, A&W has been a pioneer in the fast-food industry. It all started when Roy W. Allen opened a roadside root beer stand.
One hundred and five years later, I am still drinking A&W Root Beer. How time flies. Here I am at 77 yrs old, and A&W is still my favorite, especially their Root Beer Floats. The taste is exactly what I remembered as a kid. Thank you, A&W, for serving generations of fans.
The young men and women working there are very polite and respectful. Foods always good. Very few nice lil places like this around anymore.
This place is AWESOME! They have preserved the original magic. You can either order from your car and have it brought out, or sit at a booth and call I'm your order. Never been so happy in my life to see something good left in its wonderful glory.
The food is delish, too! I had a Papa combo with cheese curds. Hot and fresh and delivered to my table in 7 minutes. Of course had a rootbeer with my dinner. Toppings piled high on the burger. Cheese curds perfect- piping hot and melty but not leaking out the delicious cheese.
A group of truly pleasant people working. I could hear their laughter and that in itself was a treat. Inside immaculate- original decor and fixtures to die for.
Indianola is only 10 miles away from Des Moines so easy access. My dinner was only $11. I think kids and adults both would enjoy this throwback restaurant.
Happy as a clam to have discovered this gem.
Great A&W experience. The ordering by phone was very nostalgic
This place was so nostalgic. Great food and root beer just as I remember from my childhood.
We rented the same cabin we did last year outside Keosauqua. It's beautiful, peaceful, and full of nature as the cabin sets on the banks of the Des Moines river. Want a getaway that you'll truly love? Give us a call or text us, and we will share the information. It is a private one bedroom cabin on the Des Moines river. No one around, just you and nature.
