Best WLM Reviews
We stopped by on our visit to town. We had a bubble waffle ice cream, a boba tea, egg rolls, and got lucky and got some banana bread. We got the banana bread home, and oh my goodness it was delicious!! A very cute little place with yummy food.
We ordered spicy and got full flavored food but not spicy. We enjoyed the kimchi and the dumplings. The fried cabbage was also delish. Large portions, we could have shared one meal with the dumplings. Solid food just did not kick it for us.
When my girlfriend told me about the 6 for $6 egg roll, I couldn't wait to try them! So glad I didn't! These really are the best eggrolls in Franklin County! They were even larger than they appeared in the Facebook post! I definitely recommend stopping by and giving them a try!
I had an absolutely amazing dining experience at this Korean restaurant in Carrabelle, Florida. It's a local gem owned by passionate individuals, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone visiting the town. The flavors and authenticity of the dishes are outstanding, making it a must-visit spot for anyone in the area. Don't miss the chance to savor the delicious food and support this wonderful local establishment!
I don't know if this is "authentic Korean" - I've been to some very good Korean restaurants in Los Angeles and New York, and this was more like the homestyle Korean cooking I'd expect in the homes of my Korean friends. But for this area, it was a really nice alternative.
Nothing was greasy. That's a big deal down here. We drove from Panacea and everyone was super nice. Arrived 15 minutes before they technically opened, but the woman at the counter took our order and promised it would be ready right at opening time - which it was. This is not a place to go if you expect fancy dining; plastic implements and to-go boxes are the rule of the day.
The vegetables were very good. Enjoyed the steamed dumplings and their sauce as well, though I suspect the sauce was out of a bottle.
Our one big criticism is the quality of meat. I realize this is a small business, but the chicken and pork tasted like the absolute cheapest brands. Tasteless to the point where we shoved all the meat aside and ate the vegetables instead. It was unfortunate because that ruined a good portion of the meal for all of us. I hope the owner, who seems very friendly and on top of things, realizes that in a meat or poultry dish, the flavor begins with those items.
Next time we'll see if they can't do one of the regular dishes with tofu instead of a meat/poultry choice.
Loved, btw, that they grow a lot of their own herbs and spices and vegetables!!!
I had really high hopes for this place. as an Asian and a lover of Asian food I thought this place was going to be really good after seeing all the pictures and reviews.I expected to see an Asian lady whipping up some amazing Korean food but instead it's just a bunch of Gen Zers working there complaining . They don't know how to greet anyone and somehow they ran out of tofu for the vegetable ramyun. they did substitute a fried egg but it's not the same. there was one girl there that was kind of nice. we ordered a little bit of everything because I wanted to see what this place had to offer. The egg rolls were the best thing I ate and they were better than most takeout Asian restaurants. the dumplings were just okay. we got the bulgogi and vegetable ramyun and they were both bland. needed more umami flavor. all you tasted was spice. maybe when the Korean lady worked there it was better. The Japchae was very bland as well. it definitely needed more sauce and the glass noodles were mushy. The Korean short ribs with fried rice was good but expensive. I will never come back. I hope if you do decide to go you have a better experience than we did. if you ever had really good Korean food I would skip this place for sure. i did leave full though because I didn't want to waste $90
We were excited to eat here based on the rave reviews and because we love Korean food. We ordered the grilled chicken and spicy pork entrees with fried rice. We were seriously disappointed by the quality of both the chicken and the pork, my sauce was bland and way too sweet, and the fried rice was super generic overcooked white rice with overcooked frozen mixed vegetables. Nothing tasted authentic, fresh, or even flavorful. I do have to say the egg rolls and fries mandu were delicious, I would eat those again. However, my entree was inedible; I had to throw 95% of it away. My husband was in the army and he has had better MREs. I sincerely hate leaving bad reviews but this restaurant needs a lot of work. :(
Stopped in during our visit to Carabelle and the food far exceeded our expectations! The owner was amazing, asked our preferences and customized our order to our taste. The tuna in the Poke bowl was incredibly fresh, the kimchi spicy and crunchy, the dumplings plump and flavorful. The portions were large and everything beautifully presented. Will definitely be back when we return to this beautiful little town!!
