I came for the brake and light inspection and had a fantastic experience! The owner was very through and explained the process to me clearly before and throughout the process. By informing me of the process up front there were no surprises, and although I didn't pass either inspection, I left with a clear understanding of why and what needed to be done to pass. I wasn't able to afford the work this month, but will sure be back next month to finish up and get my certificates!
Run fast! And don't look back. This guy will rob your money and tell you he's an honest guy with a straight face.
Was quoted $70 over the phone for a brake and lamp inspection. Actually paid over twice that amount for 15 minutes of "adjustments" because there's actually nothing wrong with my car. He actually wanted $170 but gave me a $10 discount because he's such a nice guy.
When you walk into his office, he will tell you that it costs $70 (must pay up front) but if you need to adjust your brakes or lights it will cost more.
Surprise! After a 2 minute test drive around the block, he claimed my lights were aimed too high (which it's not) and my brakes were a fingernails width off (which it's not).
Don't ask me why I paid this crook. I guess I like to get robbed.
So the technician adjusted both headlights with a twist of a screwdriver ($20 x2= $40). When I asked him why he charges $40 for something that takes a minute to do? He replies by saying why does a dentist charge you $200 to pull your teeth? What a condescending prick!
He spent another 10 minutes adjusting the rear brakes ($25 x2= $50). I'm not sure what exactly he did to adjust it because I was in the office questioning the shop's ridiculous repair charges.

Oh and he charges extra 3% if you pay by card (visa only)
When I got my car back, it drove exactly the same before I brought it in for inspection. That's because there's nothing wrong with my car and no real work was done.
Just stay far, far away from this business. The owner is sleazy. I guarantee you he will require you to pay for a lamp adjustment and brake adjustment (or whatever deficiency adjustments he can conjure up) in order to get your certificates. And if you elect to get your adjustments elsewhere, he's already got your $72 up front and will charge you $72 again to issue your certificates. You have been warned.
$160 lesson learned. Never ever go to any business where they demand the full payment up front, before any work has even begun. Never ever!
Went in for brake & light inspection. Explained his pricing structure very thoroughly, so there would be no hidden surprises. Had me in & out the door in no time. Garage bay is glass enclosed so you can watch the work being done..Great customer service
This place is absolutely terrible! If I can give it zero stars I would.
We went in for the brake and light inspection certificate. We agreed to get the inspection but we were not aware he was going to charge us over 100 just to adjust one light signal and the license plate light. After they fixed that they proceed to the brakes and said the measurements were wrong and to fix would charge over 200 so at that point we said no that we would get it fixed with our mechanic so we came back the following day and he charged us an extra 35 to redo the inspection. Then he took it for a spin and came back and said there was something new wrong with the brakes and said he would not tell us what was wrong and that when ever we got it fixed to come redo the inspection. Even though we had our mechanic adjust what he said and even bought new brake shoes. Bottom line DONT GO HERE!!! The owner or whatever he is, is an a****** tries to get as much money out of you as possible instead go to Hobart auto shop much cheaper and nicer staff!!!!!!!
Came for a brake and light inspection. The owner is professional, and explained all adjustments clearly. His team is efficient and does a great job! Would recommend if you want someone who knows what they're talking about.
I'm not a car expert and all I got was an oil change, but I'll definitely be coming back and will update my review accordingly.
I was helped by A & M Auto Repair & Service and they are all extremely friendly. I find other mechanics can have a tendency to talk to you like you're a moron (in fact, the mechanic next door did just this when I spoke to him about an oil change first) but A & M Auto Repair & Service was friendly through and through.
They made it clear to me that they would do the oil change, and IF I WANTED, they would check for any other problems. I said I only wanted the oil change today as I had to leave for Oshawa soon, and that was that.
My car was done in a timely fashion and as the previous reviewer said, I did not feel ripped off or have any issues with the work.
Again, do keep in mind I just got an oil change, but for the price I paid and the vibe I got at the place, I'll certainly be coming back here.
Don't beware! Very good service! I came to A&M Auto center for brake and light inspection because it was close to my house. It took them 35 minutes to check everything and give me sertification. Fast and professional!
In the process of the inspection the mechanic (Michael) found out some other problems to fixing up. He gave me option to repair with him or someone else. I decided to shop around and was back in 2 days. I remained very satisfied. Thanks A&M!
This guy (Owner) changes his mind about the the price he gives you. the owner of this place charged me twenty five dollars per headlight light bulb to adjusted I didn't put it on the right way, my thands are to big, $50 dollar's was lot of money fora 2 simple adjustments. but I told him go ahead and do it , After he had someone working on my car he calls me to his office to tell me that the prize is $70 stead of $50 Plus the $72.50 for the Inspection which I was ok to pay at first but not after he changed his price on the adjustment I'm not gonna call him any names I'll let all of you be the judge.
