I typically don't write reviews, but the service I received was so poor that I feel compelled to share my experience to prevent others from facing the same issues. Initially, I visited A-1 on two occasions before deciding to have them work on my car. They were very polite and assured me that they could fix it. However, I later discovered that they were not handling the body work themselves, as they partner with Dynamic Dent DFW in Alvarado.
After about four weeks of having my car in their possession, they texted me saying it would be ready on Friday, which turned out to be untrue. They kept delaying, giving me new dates that it would be ready, which continued for several days. When I finally got my car back, I paid the deductible, but upon reaching home, I found a part of my car on the floor. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the body work was not done properly, and my light was not connected.
I returned the car, and the person from Dynamic seemed more concerned about whether I had paid than about the quality of the work. After another 3-4 days, I got my car back, only to realize that the antenna was missing, and the alignment was off. It was not properly assembled. They took it back for a third time, but by then, it was Saturday, and I needed my car for work on Monday. After six weeks of dealing with this situation, I had to involve my insurance company to ensure the repairs were done correctly.
The whole process was a major hassle, especially considering that my insurance had paid them on the first day my car was there. It took far too long to get the work done properly.
I can't even explain how satisfied I am with this establishment, simply amazing! I unfortunately purchased a 2017 Chevy Silverado z71 4wd in 2019 after 3 months the transmission blew up like so many others because of the torque converter cover came apart and destroyed the transmission.
Chevy should have recalled for this problem but they didn't and now there is a class action law suit against them for it. So I was stuck paying $5,000 to have the transmission rebuilt. Truck ran fine for 3 years 36 months to the date the 36 month warranty was out!
So I did some research online looking for another shop with great reviews, I wasn't about to go back to the last place. I found A-1 great reviews so I gave them a call. Colby told me to bring it in and they wouldn't charge me to check it out. So I take the truck in they tell me they are alittle busy but they will get to it. So I dropped it off on a Tuesday. Well on that Thursday the timing chain breaks on my Tahoe so now my second vehicle is down.
I call em up and they tell me transmission is gone needs a rebuild. They quote me a price which was very reasonable, I tell to go ahead and fix it and explained I need it done by Friday I'm having to rent a car for a week. They said they would get it done.
Well Thursday comes and they call me and tell me it's done. Yes a day early ! It's been like 3 weeks and my truck is running perfect. I would highly recommend Colby and his team great work at a great price! Thanks A-1 for a great experience .

After writing a negative review a month ago……I must add Ms.Tara has stepped up to the plate and way beyond … getting my insurance involved which I had no idea would take care of such a thing….I wish I could take down my negative review cuz idefinately would…YOU READ DAT GOOGLE REMOVE NEGATIVE…if any of my vehicles need repair I will travel the 30-40 minute drive ,I would even pay the xtra to have the tow truck take it to Tara ‘s place also known as A-1 auto and diesel…Itrust this woman that much..she does what she says she’s gonna do.Great efforts Tara I appreciate all you’ve done with my case .if there’s a way to remove the negative review lemme know .. it was a pleasure doin business witchu.Thanks for all you’ve done
Out of all the transmission repair shops, this one had the best reviews, so i went with them. They had my transmission pulled, rebuilt, and reinstalled in the time they said it would take. My truck is running smooth. Im gonna baby it through the break-in period , and hopefully, after that, it's still running good when i let loose with it.
I will update this review in about a month.
Thank you for getting my truck back to the way it needed to be. UPDATE....................... It's been over a year now. My truck is still running just fine. I have no issues pulling my boat or rv with the rebuild.
I went there needing transmission work and had already agreed to pay 1900 dollars for the repairs. After they looked at it and got into it they said it would cost 1100 dollars. 800 less than I already agreed too. Honesty from a transmission shop!!!? After getting my truck back I'm very pleased and will be a return customer. I built the motor for power and it means nothing if the transmission won't hold up. It holds up!!!

Great place for auto and diesel repairs! Got my vehicle quoted at the dealership initially and they said it would take 4k to change the AC hoses (note, just change the hoses) and fix the cv axle leak and I said hell naw I'll get a second opinion.
Took my vehicle here for a serpentine belt repair and got the AC and cv axle looked at while they're at it and they quoted me half of what the dealership says and more!! Full AC replacement, cv axle replacement and serpentine belt repair and I said Heck yeah!!
Honest and quality work are rare so keep it up! Please keep the massage chair! It was great to de-stress of having my car broke down that day. :) Our go-to place for autorepair for sure!!
My F-250 diesel truck pulling a 40 ft 5th wheel broke down along I-35. The folks at A-1 were very helpful in getting my truck fixed that very same day! Not only was the customer service and work excellent, but the price was very reasonable - much better than I had expected. Couldn't be more satisfied with my experience with the nice folks at A-1 Auto and Diesel Repair.
