99 always has good food options with reasonable prices. We ordered garlic teriyaki boneless wings for our appetizer, very tasty.
My friend got steak tips he said was good.
I ordered the Vermont cheddar burger, very good ????
The portions were disappointing and the quality of the food was just ok, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't phenomenal by any means.
The drink I got, some spritzer with fruit puree was pretty bland as well.
The environment is nice enough, mix of all types of music, from top 40 pop hits to classic rock, the waitress was accommodating and kind, but overall, for what I paid, I was incredibly disappointed at what was given for the value.
If they upped the portions the rationale for going there more regularly would be improved greatly.
Honestly the most I can say was the food wasn't terrible. But the service was, I was horrified by the number of mistakes made early on, and it didn't improve. We lacked utensils, I ended up drinking from plastic because a glass of just water was too complicated, and the parties around us had similar mistakes made and had to send their food back.
I liked the chowder alright but the burger was probably the worst I've had in my life. It was their "all star" and the meat itself was just awful, charred on the outside and too pink on the inside. The special sauce was weird, the bacon was hard as a rock, and I got the inside (middle) of the onion slice. Like did you even try to make it good?
I'm not sure if I'll ever go back despite a previously good takeout experience, but I do sincerely hope the server we had gets better or leaves. Like, terse and rude by the end on top of just sucking at her job. Christ. 2/10 if I could but I don't want to leave just 1 star. It wasn't the worst ever...
This is the iconic New England restaurant with all the food and beverages you'd expect. The Nine's is a comfortable place where you'll make instant friends at the bar, and your server will treat you like your mom (when she was at her best).
Food was delicious. The waitress (Dorothy) was extremely rude tho. She had a nasty attitude and didn’t offer us refills or dessert. She didn’t even bother bringing us our food, another waitress brought it to us. We ordered some food to take home as well. She was shaking the bag of food in my fiancé’s face and I was flabbergasted because I have never experienced such an unpleasant server.
Recently I had a chicken pot pie lunch and it was very, very good. The pie crust was excellent and it had more than enough chicken and vegetables and oh so steamy! Service has always been good considering the shortness of staff that a lot of restaurants are experiencing.
My cousin and I love coming here. We sometimes stop in and sit at the bar and we're usually in and out very quickly. Always friendly bartenders and front door peeps.
My husband and I come here and always have a great meal and service. Not tonight. The garlic teriyaki wasn't very good.. First it was under cooked to my liking, I asked for med well. 2nd it was real tough to cut. My husband offered me half of his sandwich and he took the steak. He also said it was tough to cut and chew .. then I was asked if I wanted another beverage, I was having a beer. They had to go look for more because the bar area was out of stock. Well, they were completely out. Not a good experience tonight ... Sat and college playoff weekend all 12 TV's had the same game on. Hopefully the next time, things will be back on track
