Best WLM Reviews

the fries were some of the best in all of the land. perfectly hot and crispy and seasoned just right. the sandwiches were so good that we were full and trying to finish every last bite. i would order an extra sauce on the side because i like things to be saucy. but the meat is perfectly seasoned and the bread is very good.
I came here for a company dinner! We ordered family style and it was DELICIOUS! Usually when food is cooked in bulk, it lacks flavor. That was NOT the case at 90 Miles! I only remembered to take pics of the empanadas because it was THAT GOOD! There was rice, beans, and even a vegan option. The maduros were the best I’ve had in the states.
It’s the cutest outdoor space! ???? Can’t wait to go back to Chicago and eat here again!
Overall Thoughts: This is a popular spot in Logan Square touted by Guy Fieri and famous for its Cubanos. I tried the Cubano and Media Noche sandwiches and though they were good, both were lacking in flavor compared to other Cubanos/Cuban food I’ve had elsewhere. The service was pretty slow, but I enjoyed the vibes of the space— the interior is adorned beautifully with ample murals/art. Overall, it’s a bit pricey— clocking in at $17-18 per sandwich with a side of fries or plantain chips, it’s definitely pricier than most other comparable Cuban restaurants in Chicago.
Food I tried:
- Cubano with Fries (4.2/5) and Media Noche with Plantain Chips (4/5): The Media Noche is basically the same as the Cubano except with soft sweet egg bread instead of traditional pressed french bread. However, I still preferred the crispiness of the Cubano’s original bread over the Media Noche’s soft one, which eventually got kind of too soft / soggy. The plantain chips were +$1 but I liked them a lot— they were crispy and flavorful. Overall, both sandwiches tasted good and I would order/eat them again in the future, but they could’ve used more mustard— they were a little dry overall / lacking sauce.
Price (relative to peers): 3.9/5
Food: 4.1/5
Ambience: 4.8/5
Service: 4.4/5
Overall Value: 4/5
Great food, the fried plantains are cut thin so they're extra crispy like potato chips. Good quantity for your money. Great customer service.
Everything we ordered was great. The Cuban sandwich and empanadas were our favorites of the night. It does get crowded so definitely recommend reservations as they are on OpenTable. Also some nights there is a DJ after 6pm so it does get super super loud.
We went to the Armitage location. Amazingly delicious lunch! We started with Mariquitas, plantain chips with mojo de ajo, a garlic/lime sauce. That sauce is on another level of delicious. I would put that on everything if I could! For my main course, I had a Cubano sandwich, which came with a side option of plantain chips or fries. I opted for the fries because we had already ordered plantain chips for the table, but I should have just gone with the plantains, because they were so delicious! The sandwich was substantially sized and perfectly cooked. I ended up with a half sandwich and most of my fries to take home. We ended our meal with two cafe cubanos, which was a perfect way to end the meal before the long trip home. The service was prompt and friendly. Just as a note, this restaurant is BYOB, so you can order mixers, but you would need to provider your own alcohol. This was clearly marked in the building, but I missed it and tried ordering a Mojito anyway. I will definitely be back again, more adequately prepared with rum!
Amazing little spot that served me the best Cubano I've ever had. The pork was flavorful, and not overpowered by the pickles or mustard.
This place isn't the cheapest, but it's BYOB, so they won't fleece you for an $8 beer. Staff were friendly, and the vibes were great.
Enjoying the sunshine ☀️ at lunch today and sat on the patio on Armitage.
I ordered La Completa with the upgraded Ropa Vieja and cup of soup - choosing the Sopa de Cherna (Grouper). La Completa comes with rice, beans, plantains, and the selected protein. I really enjoyed this platter. The beans and rice were well portioned and seasoned. The ropa vieja meets the renown that it is known for.
The Sopa de Cherna was really tasty and I thought the cup was an excellent portion size when accompanied with the entree.
