This place is going to thrive! Each gentleman who worked there came over to check on us and say hello, they were just lovely. But the food, the food, was perfect. I had the poke bowl, check it out, a gorgeous presentation and equally delicious. The spring rolls were the freshest, yummiest I've ever eaten. My sister said her burger was so tender it did not require much chewing. Apparently they grind the meat here. Atmosphere perfect. Apparently they have music on the weekend too. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating. Just go!
What a great concept and devious food. My husband and I went out last night to check out 22 South Food Hall. The food was amazing, as were the drinks and we were treated to live jazz as well. We very much enjoyed our evening and will be back again.
You will not be disappointed with a night out @ 22 South Food Hall. I've had the oxtail meal two separate times same consistency of flavor and portioning; signature drink was right on point too.
The takeout wings were even amazing the next day (thai I believe).
New mission-driven dining concept lands in an historic African American community landmark situated between hip Grand Central District & Deuces neighborhood.
The mutli-use space is a commissary kitchen, food hall, event venue, co-working area & coffee shop...and it's gorgeous!
Growing up in South St Pete I never knew the history of the Manhattan Casino built in 1925, until now.
A former dance hall/music venue part of the Chitlin Circuit in the first half of 20th century...wow if this building could speak. And it does; make sure to check out the historical plaque out front and statue of founder Elder Jordan to immerse yourself in the full experience & significance.
The idea is simple, get several restauranteurs together (including incubating space for up & comers in addition to established chefs) under one roof via a commissary kitchen, while guests enjoy one seemless dining experience with carefully curated menus at your beckon call.
We attended during the soft opening (May 2021) which offered Jamaican, BBQ, Sushi/Fish, American, Vegan & Italian. Oh and a sangria + wine bar.
Appetizers: my #1 recommendation are VJ's braised pork meatballs (3 for $10) laden with fresh tomato sauce, whipped herbed ricotta cheese, chives & micro greens...AHmazing! You'll promptly want to order one more, I promise!
BBQ: the pulled pork sandwich is the best I've had in Tampa Bay no exaggeration, and a hearty deal @ $10
Jamaican Beef Patties: an NYC tradition...an sooo much better with that homemade dough (2 for $8)
Jerk Chicken Skewer: only misstep as it was super dry and almost no jerk spice detectable (1 for $5)...skip!!
Service: as with most restaurants at the moment, they're a little understaffed as they work out the kinks inching towards a full opening but the waitstaff were all incredibly nice and in full hustle mode.
I can't wait to come back and try more!
This is an amazing creative restaurant that has a great variety and combination of food from different chefs with their own unique experiences. I had the oxtail here and it was excellent. The service was amazing as well, and the atmosphere felt very historic but also inspiring and new! I highly recommend checking this place out.
We went for the jazz. The food (I had the salmon) was really good! The service was slow (and a bit forgetful) but very pleasant! We will go back!
Everything was great from the ambiance of the place the food drinks and let's not forget about how clean it is they also have a banquet area foe Events to be held .. The Keystothecity is my drink of choice
Already have plans to return to this food hall! I enjoyed the Spaghetti & Meatballs from Louie’s Italian Eatery. For $12 bucks you get a plate of pasta with thick, delicious sauce that just sings in your mouth. And the best part are the meatballs. Whatever the mix is…amazing. Looking forward to ordering the lasagna next time. In addition to the other restaurants and their cuisines. Everything looked sooo good coming out of the kitchen.
A great space here, nicely decorated in an historic building. So close to 3 Daughters Brewing and Grand Central. Great service, too. Get your butts there!!
