I was craving Asian food and great chicken fried rice so me, my hubby and mother in law drove from Parker all the way down to Northville to get some Asian cuisine. I think their specialty is the fried rice and I order my chicken well done but please of all they serve Pepsi products. Kid friendly for sure. The salmon could be better, maybe it’s the cut of the fish. My husband enjoyed the General Lees chicken - he said it was just ok - a little too sweet and needed more spice, more rice but he ate it - he doesn’t waste food. Try it for yourself and it makes for a great night or the entire family.
Vegetarian options. We had the veggie noodle dishes and the seaweed salad with mango. We had to opt out of the sauce with the noodles since it was fish sauce so it was on the bland side even with gluten free soy sauce but still decent. Lots of fresh veggies and good flavor on the seaweed salad.
The food here is AMAZING! What's even more amazing is the price! The dinner pricing was more than reasonable and made this my go-to sushi spot going forward. The service was also great.
Zen was decent! It had good food and good service! This is the first time I dined here and overall it was a pretty decent experience! The food was really good but not the best.. I have had better but I am partial to another restaurant but that is neither here nor there! The wait staff was prompt and efficient! They got my parents food out within minutes of us ordering! I had the unagi roll and some lobster shasmi! Great presentation (and we all know if the food looks good it tastes better)! But all in all I would recommend Zen for a good dining experience!
The sushi was good, but not great. If you’ve ever had “great” sushi, you will know what I mean. If you are not familiar with professional quality sushi, I’m sure you will enjoy it just fine. Everything tasted good, but the nori was stale lending an unpleasant texture to most of the sushi. This happens when the nori is exposed to air and allowed to absorb moisture(like a bag of chips left open). OR the nori got too wet. Many sushi chefs coat their hands with water to prevent the rice from sticking to their hands. Most likely, the chef had too much water on their hands when making the rolls. The tuna inside the rolls was not Ahi. A spicy tuna roll is Cucumber, Avocado, and Ahi(typically dressed up with chives, spices, and chili sauce). It all just seemed cheaply made and dressed down. They have a large menu that stands on its own with plenty to choose from. Including both Thai and Japanese entrées.
The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the staff was friendly and we enjoyed good service. However, a restaurant couldn’t receive 5 stars without the food itself meeting that quality. If I were to revisit this place, I’d probably try one of their entrees from their main menu.
For sushi, I’d seek out a new place to try.
Come here all the time for their sushi lunch special, great deal and great food. Nice atmosphere, with good service. Been happy every time Ive come for lunch or dinner and would recommend; also my son loves it (his words).
5 stars hands down. They got us in within 15 minutes on a Friday night, and the food lived up to the great atmosphere. My wife and I loved the Pink Lady sushi roll - everything about it was just perfect, highly recommend!
The food was pretty good, I got the crispy Thai fried chicken. Huge portions!
Also got an Old Fashioned and a white wine. The Old Fashioned was ok, as was the wine. I always judge an Old Fashioned by the type of cherry you get. The Luxardo is a must!
