So since I went to Rasing Cane’s not to long ago I randomly decided to stop at Zaxby’s while on a road trip. Yep!! I saw the sign while in southern V.A., I got off the interstate, & got something slight…LET’S GO!!

Their No.3 (With Tongue Torch sauced bone in wings, 3 plain strips, fries, butter toast, Zax sauce, & a large peach sweet tea $14.79).
The bone in wings…DELICIOUS!! Meaty, mildly spicy, I just needed these cooked harder.
The Zax sauce…LIKE THAT!! I see what y’all mean now. Savory, & tangy I dipped everything in this sauce!!
The Strips…LIKE THAT!! With the sauce. DELICIOUS w/o the sauce.
The Bread, & Fries…LIKE THAT!! Surprisingly tasty (for fast food)!! Buttery bread, crispy fries!!
The Peach sweet tea…DELICIOUS!! It was definitely sweet sweet!!
Their Fried Pickles ($5). STAMP!! Again dipped in that sauce, with a crunchy breading on the pickles!!
Their Cheddar Bites (coated fried cheese $5). DECENT. Eat these fast…they harden quickly.
Their Caramel Funnel Cake (drizzled with caramel,& confectionery sugar $3.49). STAMP!! It’s the funnel cake from the carnival back in the day, plus caramel!!

I asked for Lettuce/Tomato to be added to my sandwich and this is what I ended up with. Large Fry looked more like a Medium. Cup was slammed full of ice with maybe three sips of soda. No idea what happened with this location but it needs fixing.
Messed up the order (1st inconvenience,) called them and spoke with them on the phone the lady told me to come back before they close. when i arrive the lady ( i’m assuming manager) showed no remorse and was not apologetic at all for her staff mistake…. then made me come in (2nd inconvenience.) very annoyed.
Very disappointed. This place never messed up my food before but today they did. I understand things happen. I called they stated they will fix it. Okay cool. I get back to the restaurant and go through the drive thru because thats what i originally did. They then tell me I needed to come inside because of their drive thru time. I didnt make this error but completely understood, but now you are going to inconvenience the customer because your drive- thru time is more important. Then have an attitude about it. Wow! What a Very disappointing experience
I'm really kind of between 3 and 4 stars. You get a decent amount of food for the price... but it's mostly the fries/toast. I take some issue with the [traditional] wings. They are the smallest wings I've ever seen... what in the miniature chicken is going on!? ???? Same observation with the tenders. No complaints on flavor or preparation. The staff were patient with me at the drive-thru; it was my first time at a Zaxby's so I fumbled my order and they were gracious enough to let me correct it at the window.????????
Liars. Ordered delivery through their app. They cancelled my order. Proceed to tell me "We can't cancel on our end". I hang up call who they deliver through not surprised when I'm told the merchant cancelled the order. This is the third time this has happened. My car is broken down so this is how I get eats. Cancelling simply because you don't feel like making my order is crazy.
The new shrimp is good however, $3 for 4 pieces of shrimp and they are not the same size is an issue. like. I have a popcorn sized shrimp, a medium and a large. Not impressed.
On the last Saturday of every month we go to this thrift store in Portsmouth, and we always go to this Zaxby's to have our family dinner. It's kind of become our ritual. I always get the Cajun Club, along with the older girls. The littlest baby always gets the chicken nibblers. They have always provided the best service & we will continue to come back to this location.
