When I heard that a new sushi place had opened nearby, I had to check it out. This new restaurant is well decorated and has an aesthetic vibe. Also, the sushi was well prepared and definitely did not disappoint. I will be coming back very shortly so I can try more of their amazing flavors. If you are ever in the area please come and support the business.
A new jewel of a restaurant. We came inside thinking it was similar to a fast food restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised to find a nice sit down location.
My daughter loves sushi so usually I end up getting a tempura dish but happily there were many items to pick from.
My daughter chose her favorite California roll and I had the beef fried rice. It was loaded with crispy bites of carrot, peas, celery and onion which we not only shared but had some to take home.
After complementing our chef we were surprised with a serving of Tea leaf salad and hot jasmine tea. Our hostess explained that this is usually eaten as an appetizer with the tea. The tea leaf salad has a punch of flavor and the sweet tea helps smooth the palate. I liked the crunchiness of the salad.
I would give this a 100% happy dance in my chair.!
Add to that they have a drive through for a quick ???? pickup.
This quiet little spot is a fun new option in Redlands! My wife and I visited for lunch and were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was prompt and helpful!
The spot took over the old Mill Creek BBQ space and they've attempted to update the decor to match. The remnants of Mill Creek are still evident, but the hanging umbrellas are a nice touch and feel like it ties the space into downtown Redlands.
My wife and I were most excited by the Burmese food options, which seem to be tougher to find in the area.
We tried the Mohinga soup, the Samosas (Burmese Samosas are different than Indian Samosas), 2 of the 'sticky rice' dessert options, a Falooda (a dessert beverage) and a Crab Meat Poke bowl.
All the food was tasty, and it was really fun trying some traditional Burmese food.
The Mohinga soup, with fish, tempura, and noodles was rich and full of flavor. The noodles seemed a touch over-cooked, but the dish was tasty.
The Samosas were unique, wherein the potato inside was cubed (instead of a mashed consistency like Indian Samosas). The Samosas themselves were a bit bland, but the dipping sauce was very tasty. Additionally the Samosas seemed extra oily.
The Crab Meat Poke bowl was tasty and simple.
The Falooda was fun to try, and reminded me of a Filipino Halo-Halo beverage. The beverage came in a fun glass and was beautiful to look at, but was quite small considering the price, and that most of it consisted of ice.
The Sticky Rice options (Black Sticky Rice & Mango Sticky Rice) were tasty as well. I wished they had more of the coconut/sweet milk, but the texture was good. The Mango was a bit underripe, but still a nice combination with the rice.
The one downside was the servings were frustratingly small, especially for the cost of the food. What we did get (aside from the Samosas) was quite delicious and delivered to the table hot.
The only other quirk about this spot is the home-made tables. While the table-tops are nice, they have 4, very thick legs at each corner of the table which make it hard to sit on the edges of the booths (see photos). A center post table would work much better for them.
The menu is extensive, and the environment is welcoming. This seems to be a family restaurant, and they genuinely care about your experience. While I wish there was a bit more value for the food ordered, all in all we will likely be back to give this restaurant more business. This is definitely a worthwhile local business to support!
Had a wonderful meal with my wife. All the food is cooked fresh. The sushi ???? is delicious. I recommend the salmon special roll. For our appetizers we had naan and Tempura shrimp ???? and egg flowers soup ????. The Jasmine ???? tea has a wonderful flavor. Presentation of everything brought out was perfect. Will be back. We will take more pictures next time. The one we did take was of the poke bowl and the fancy tea set. ????
I had the most amazing time at Z’s this was some of the best sushi I have had in a while. Our server was absolutely adorable! I honestly can not believe that this place was not packed to the brim with a wait out the door for a Friday night peak hours! If you are looking for a sushi place with good prices and amazing value please come here! You won’t be disappointed!
First time here and the food was great. We ordered spicy tuna rolls, and they were able to deep fry them for me. We also ordered California rolls and chicken fried rice. The service was great also.
The food was just not tasty. The sushi is just not of good quality. I ordered salmon sashimi, a specialty roll, pork gyoza, tea, and miso soup. The salmon was not thawed properly and the specialty roll was covered with crunchy tempura flour balls. The service was strange but adequate. The waitress serves the food, asks for beverage choice, then returns with a credit card terminal showing amount due without displaying a food receipt. I asked and was able to view the complete receipt. The good news is as follows: The restaurant is clean, the tea was fragrant, and the booths were comfortable. If it was a tea house, one could sit all day in comfort and enjoy the sunshine.
Advertised as Sushi restaurant but also have Burmese food, Samosa & teas leaf salad are on point, roti and chicken curry is pretty good
