Great service from Young's -- my headlight was out; Young's was able to take me right then and fixed the light, which required a more complicated procedure of removing the wheels. Charged a very reasonable price and it was done within a half and hour. Highly recommend and will be going back!

If you're looking for friendly customer service, this is not your place. If you are looking for a knowledgeable mechanic, this is also NOT your place.

I called on the phone and told him about my 1990 Toyota Pickup having a fuel smell in the exhaust (shoutout to Pele's in Richmond for excellent service on the exhaust and catalytic converter), before even listening to me he snaps "we don't do catalytic converters" showing that he was not truly fully engaged or listening to the conversation. When I toldA him they suggested I get a "tune up", he told me "that's not a thing". After finally getting my point across, he tells me to come in on Friday morning; so I do. I tell him what is going on again and told him I spoke to him on the phone and before anything else he says "well I'm not going to do it today", which I never even asked him to. He then tells me I can't even leave it. So why tell me to bring it in Friday morning at all if you're not going to take it? Fine. He says he'll be there Monday at 730AM.

I come back on Monday morning 730AM, roll it in, he says "I can smell it, the car is too old that can't be fixed" which is an absolutely ridiculous thing for a mechanic to say. The 1990 Toyota Pickup engine is actually very easy to work on, mostly I'm looking for expertise and diagnostics, which many places have helped with before, but clearly not here. Could not advise you more to take your car elsewhere. Awful service.

Young has been my mechanic for over 35 years. He's been consistently reliable and tells me the most cost effective way to address my car problems. He's honest, polite, communicative, follows up timely with estimates and is accurate about when the car will be ready. I couldn't ask more from a mechanic.

Was traveling thru Oakland and blew an oil filter seal and was losing oil quickly

They were extremely helpful and professional. They ordered the part and got us back on the road. I was very pleased with my experience.

Excellent service! Dropped off my car in the morning, with an undiagnosed transmission issue. By late morning they had diagnosed the issue* and communicated exactly what parts would be needed in the repair and how much it would cost. Very reasonable price. By mid-afternoon the repair was completed. Exceeded my expectations! Thank you.

*which ended up being a relatively minor issue (fluid pressure switches in need of repair)

This place is awesome. I came in with a P0455 code, they checked it out it was a Evap leak. Replaced the part but a few days later check light in again same code ????. What makes this place awesome is they are honest and refunded me, cause we couldn't figure out why it kept getting the same code over and over. I have had many people look into this issue and was told the same part needed to be changed with the same outcome...I guess I have a Grimlin ???? ????

Young's offers a fantastic service at a fair price while explaining all the details along the way. I will definitely be back.

THE BST SHOP ON GRAND! They are thorough, and stand behind their work. It can be tough getting in (they get busy) but it is ABSOLUTLY worth it to have a high-caliber mechanic work on your ride. They service all my cars, and will continue to do so!
