Affordable Asian food restaurant. The menus vary from Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese. I had meatball noodles, pho, gyoza, and avocado sushi. All taste decent. Portions are big for my Asian stomach. Service was quick. Overall it's a pretty nice lunch to fill up our stomach
Excellent food! I always order a variation of curry tofu noodle soup! The broth is creamy with just the right amount of spice. Crab Rangoon was amazing, we even ordered one to go. Definitely recommend the Ramen bowl and pineapple fried rice as well! The atmosphere and service was slow however it was a Sunday evening after predicted snow, looking forward to continuing to come and experience different aspects of the menu.
Unfortunately, I don't really have much positive to say about York St Noodle House. The beef in my ramen was overcooked and dry. The marinated egg in my ramen was nearly hard boiled. I asked for lemon and was given lime.
Also, the restaurant itself was not inviting or comforting. No one to greet you at the front door. All customers were sat in a narrow corridor. I don't know. I didn't enjoy my experience.
I used to love this place, but now… I am never coming back. This establishment used to be an excellent source for quality, solid, ramen and noodle dishes for a great price. Now… I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
More importantly, I brought my close friends from Gates to Hell here, and they received some of the grayest, overcooked ramen I’ve ever seen. The shoyu ramen smelled like ammonia and cat pee. The pork tonkatsu was all gray in color resembling dishwater. I really wish this did not happen to them. (Follow @gatestohell502????).
I hope this restaurant can return to its former glory. For now, I will be staying away and warning the people I know :(
It had been several years since my last visit to York St Noodle House and everything about it was different. My husband got the Pad Thai, a dish we have both had many times and it tasted nothing like it should have. He ordered the combo as his protein and I saw all types of unidentifiable meat in it. If it had been my dish I would have sent it back. He just barely ate it. I ordered the traditional ramen which tasted like a beef stew. As another reviewer wrote, the eggs in the ramen were hard boiled. The photos below are of our uneaten leftovers that we chose not to finish or take with us. Besides the disappointing food, the service was barely existent. I asked for chili oil when I ordered my ramen and then had to go ask for it as it was never brought to the table. The place was empty and the waitstaff were just sitting in the other room and didn’t even come to ask how the food was. I requested the check and went to the front to pay otherwise I thought I may be waiting forever to leave. We had both been starving but lost our appetites quickly. Had I checked the recent reviews I would have never gone but it had such a good reputation that I hadn’t thought to look. The only thing I could recommend is the fried chicken bao, which was actually very good.
Please listen to all of the recent negative reviews. I did not, and I got what I deserved. Look, I didn’t expect a whole lot from an “Asian” restaurant serving “wide wok fried noodles” instead of pad see ew, but it was snowing and it was there so I gave in to temptation. Lesson learned.
The staff were disinterested, to be kind, but hey it was snowing and an hour from closing time so I’ll overlook that. However, I can’t overlook the food. My wife took one bit of the chicken and spit it out saying it tasted “too chickeny.” I didn’t quite understand so I took a bite myself. The chicken was bad and shouldn’t be served to people. It had a strong unpleasant taste, and definitely tasted off. If you’ve had old, spoiled chicken you know the taste I’m talking about.
Seriously, heed my warning. Find another place to eat. York Street Noodle House/Anaya Sushi isn’t worth risking your health.
Friendly staff, good prices & noodles, but the flavors were not great. It started out okay and kind of got worse as we ate. Never received a refill of our drinks, either. Good spot for a quick, inexpensive bite - tastiness of the food is not guaranteed!
A fabulous Asian restaurant. This will probably be the closest you will get to Japanese Miso Ramen and it was absolutely delicious (and I’ve eaten ramen from Japan). The rolls were beautifully made and they are definitely worth buying. The price is very reasonable here and they give a huge amount of the dish. The dumpling noodle soup was tasty and the bowls are really cool. All of the food tasted like it was from their original country and you would certainly love them! The food was 5 stars because they tasted amazing, the service was 5 stars because they came to check on us regularly and refill our waters, and the atmosphere was 5 stars because of the nice music and calming vibe. The people also seemed really friendly here. I hope you come here and enjoy all of the food here because it will be worth your time and money. Also I completely forgot to take a picture before but enjoy some pics of plates? Lol
