We like this place. My sister and I come often. We love the atmosphere and the staff. The cook already knows how we like our food. We love the fish with potatoes, or we will get the grits, but we prefer the potatoes. Chicken wings were ok, but not better than my own.
We found this place while walking around downtown Portsmouth, and I'm so glad we did. I was famished when we sat down and was stuffed when I left. My favorites out of the dishes I tried are the crabcakes, the potato hash, and the cornbread. I couldn't pick just one! Can't wait to go back and try more.
We showed up at 11. Google says open 7-3 but restaurant is clearly closed. There is no sign (that I can see) stating why. Would love to know why and when/if they will reopen as i really enjoyed their brunch menu in the past. Only providing 3 stars as I don't have any idea what's going on but do not agree with 1 or 5 stars.
Had the chicken and waffles, food was overcooked and dry. Chicken lacked seasoning. Food came quick as we were the only ones in there when we ordered but didn’t see the server again until it was time for the check. Then gratuity for a table of 2 for not so good service/food. I tried to consume it but I just left what you see pictured.
Everything went wrong for a simple breakfast brunch gathering. They do know how to accommodate a large party. I'll try them again in 8 months since this location is fairly new.

In defense of the service rating they were short staff on servers. The tip/gratude was incorporated into the check. The food was straight up amazing.
Very nice staff. My food was good except for the salmon cake. It had too much filler. Meat Omelette was awesome! Waiter was nice and sweet. Clean uniform and great attitude.
Always remember to tip your waiter/waitress.
So on Friday I was working with a group and they were on a community outing. Someone yelled eat, another pointed as I slowed I saw what they towards, "Yolks on Us" We all went in I got nervous bcuz of the music I didn't know how they would respond bcuz of the disabilities. I told "Cam" I think I needed to order to go although I wanted them to have the experience and explained he said "u know what, I like what you're doing, I want them to have the experience too. How about if I turn the music down?" That touched me ???? We stayed, they had the fish and enjoyed. The ONLY thing I would've changed was the waitress didn't come bk to check on us for our drinks. Will we go bk? Indeed. Thank you all for being so welcoming and considerate.
