Best WLM Reviews

This place is great. We chose a quiet table over the hibachi, but still definitely were delited with every delicious plate that came out.
Yokoso is a Hibachi shrimp, steak chicken house .They entertainingly cook your meals while you watch. The food is excellent. I had the scallop Hibachi and it was excellent. There's so much food you'll have to take the extras home. Fantastic service
My kids have dubbed this place “No-Go-So.” it had been several years since we have eaten at this restaurant just due to their hours. We happened to be in the area right when they opened and… it was awful.
From the moment we opened the first of the double doors we were greeted by smell of rotten fish. We were concerned, but we thought maybe they had a delivery mishap or something that had spilled on the carpet? When we went inside, we could still smell the rotten fish odor mixed with the smell of soy sauce. We almost left then, but we were greeted and seated rather quickly in the area by the sushi. From there, things got worse, we waited at the table for at least five minutes before the host brought over a group who had just walked to be seated in the area. The waiter, then proceeded to almost make a show of not coming over to our table. It was so weird. It was like he was making a show of ignoring us; doing things like leaning on the back/side of our chair with his back turned to us the entire time like we didn’t exist, turning his body the long way around to avoid facing us…
I know this must sound strange, but honestly, we would have just thought that the waiter picked the table to start with a bit out of order (which is not a big deal. Happens all the time when the waiter doesn’t see who was seated when how could they know?)
If this waiter wasn’t making such a show of it, we would have thought nothing of it. It was so odd, he did this all while being very frat boy style boisterous with the other table. (I don’t think he knew them though.) During this time, the host brought over another table to be seated. The waiter eventually took the chosen table’s drink order and attempted to leave quickly… but the just seated, third table of young women called him over. He said something offhandedly flirty to them in response, but continued on his way. It was super awkward. The women definitely didn’t appear to take that well. We thought when he came back he would at least take our drink order but it took him 10 minutes to bring the first chosen table’s drinks back and started talking food with them. At this point, we were watching the clock because we had somewhere to be. He finished with the table seated next to us, turned dramatically away from our table, and went over to the table of women. He took their drink order and left. At that point we were 20-25 minutes in. We decided that the smell, the lack of service, combined with the disgusting state of their bathroom (which two of our group used when we first got there) were more than enough to leave. We didn’t put a show on about leaving or anything. We just got up and left quietly.
Chef Cullen made this one of the best hibachi meals I have ever experienced. We had to wait for table for over an hour as the host said we were late (showed up at 5:32 for a 5:30 reservation). That caused some frustration with the whole group. Put that aside and Chef Cullen was the most polite, funny and talented hibachi chefs I have come across. He saved the night and didn’t even know it!
If you like hibachi, do not eat here. Went with my partner for a good meal and that is absolutely not what we received. We sat at the regular tables and not the hibachi tables, and arrived around 5pm and there was hardly anyone in the place. The server was initially attentive in getting us our drinks but then disappeared for a good 20 minutes. Another server took our order after overhearing our conversation regarding that. The food arrived very quickly, I assume because it was made for someone else and had been sitting in the kitchen for a while as the entire hibachi plate was cold. The sushi was subpar. The sauce dishes arrived dirty and tainted with an unknown substance. All this was rectified, but only after flagging down another server. When paying out, our check was rung out as a different order (which was cheaper than what we had ordered) and then had to be voided and charged again for the correct amount only after bringing it to the attention of the wait staff. When asking for a manager none was apparently available to make any of this right. Will never return here.
The food was awful and somehow heavy despite being “Japanese” food. The tempura was made with a heavy batter and breadcrumbs. That is not how tempura is made! For reference, tempura batter is a mixture of water and rice flour (and some starches). It’s supposed to be light and airy. There was also no vegetable option for tempura: only tofu, meat, and other deep fried doughy foods. The sashimi was also terrible. Sashimi is supposed to be relatively thin sliced. This place just gives you thick hunks of fish. We didn’t sit at the hibachi tables so I can’t tell you if the chef’s were entertaining. The version they just bring to your table was pretty mediocre tasting and extremely over salted.
Our server never offered to refill our waters. She also forgot my wine and had to be reminded. She seemed pretty tired and overworked, so I’m not begrudging her. However, the service was not good. Overall, we will not be returning since the food was of low quality while the prices were high.
The waterfront location has gone up since the pandemic. It's a little pricey, but great food. Some of the times I have gone and the food was a little too salty, other times it was just right. Not sure if it's due to a specific night, or a specific cook. Overall, I come back a lot when I need great hibachi.
The food was prepared well and cooked nicely. The salmon and chicken was yummy. Miso soup had a lot of flavor. It wasn't too salty like most Chinese food. The atmosphere was pretty loud, and the lighting was a bit dark. The bathroom was not the cleanest. The wait time was pretty long if you're getting the hibachi table.
