Best WLM Reviews
Yemen & Gulf is one of Baltimore's hidden gems and has easily become one of my favorite restaurants. Let me tell you why.
I'll start with food quality. Everything that Yemen dishes out is spectacular. The flavor profile of both carnivore and vegetarian options is magnificent, not being overly salty or bland. I highly recommend the Lamb Wrap and Lamb Rice Platter. Additionally, I would recommend pairing with the Appetizer Platter, which comes with a large tray of Pita Bread, Hummus, Yogurt, and Baba Ganoush. You'll most definitely have left over dip, which you can finish off with your wrap. If you're feeling thirsty, they have complementary tea at the front. All to say, the food is amazing and you will not leave hungry.
The price is completely fair given the portions of the dishes. I highly recommend.
This was a nice surprise in Baltimore! The meat was very tender, and the food seemed fresh! I loved the green spicy sauce we were given. The naan was huge! I would definitely go back to try other menu items!
I ordered the lamb haneeth, the meat was very tender and well cooked. And the rice was also really good. My girlfriend got a veggie lamb curry but that wasn't as good.
The food good but I wouldn't say it was the best. But I would like to try other stuff on the menu as well.
The food here was AMAZING and we got so much. We didn’t pick up that it’s a family style restaurant, so we really could have split 2 entrees or 1 entrees and an appetizer for our table of 4. The leftovers kept really well and I got to eat them a few more times.
Will be back soon!
This isn’t a fancy restaurant, so if you’re expecting a fine dining atmosphere, this isn’t that kind of place. Get take out. For a casual meal with friends or quick lunch, I super recommend this place
Yemen and Gulf restaurant's rice, lamb, and chicken offerings create a culinary experience that stands out. The fragrant rice is perfectly cooked, fluffy, and seasoned with a delightful blend of spices. The lamb, tender and flavorful, showcases a mastery of traditional preparation. The chicken dishes are equally impressive, with well-marinated and succulent pieces. The restaurant captures the essence of Yemeni and Gulf cuisine, providing a rich and satisfying dining experience. The authenticity and quality of their rice, lamb, and chicken make this establishment a commendable choice for those seeking a taste of genuine Gulf flavors.
If you’re wondering, yes this is one of those under the radar places. It’s amazing how absolutely delicious every single item was. We got the lamb Haneeth, Lamb Fahsa, and Chicken Kabsa. They brought out an extra soup and salad for us which was really considerate seeing as we ordered only three entrees and only one soup and one salad comes per entree and we were four people total. The soup surprised me and blew my mind.. it’s aromatic and complex despite looking fairly simple. All the dishes are extremely flavorful and had many layers to them. The real Yemeni deal. Entrees come out super hot. I’d know bc I couldn’t help myself and devoured things while they were still piping hot. Everything was fresh. Great portion sizes for the price. You will leave super full. The hospitality is also wonderful. The people working here are extremely kind and friendly. Don’t be a stranger, go in and take a seat because you’re in good hands.
Update: Tried it again, and as always, they have great and friendly service. The food this time was fresh and delicious. Recommended.
Decent service, but the bread from my sandwich was undercooked. Similarly, the falafels weren’t cooked through and were refrigerator cold inside. The wrap went in the trash :(
Second time coming by and it was even better.
Firstly - the prices and portions are a total steal.
This place is definitely a hole in the wall, no frills kind of dining. We tried their lamb sandwich (shared between two) which was juicy and flavorful. also shared a chicken stew dish with potatoes and vegetables. This was fantastic but my favorite was definitely the sandwich! You get a lentil soup and salad with every order - soup is mildly seasoned and light, perfect start to the meal.
I will be going back for the lamb sandwich. Also, saw someone order the fries which I’m definitely getting the next time. Whole meal with a drink cost less than $30.
