Not the best Jamaican food I’ve had in my life but i am half ???????? so I’m picky. I’d go back!!! We did clear the plates. ???? we had pretty much everything on the menu. Jerk chicken, oxtails, plantains, lots of sides, some drinks, and the rum fruit cake. The prices are VERY good.
The beef patties and curries are great and have awesome flavor! Especially when hot!
The service here, meh, not so much. The sister at the counter could level up her customer service skills. A half-smile and/or thank you goes a long way even if it's typically not your mood. Gimmie at least one of the above please!
First time eating here. Ordered the Ital plate, 2 veggie pies and ginger beer. The veggie were very dry and not as full as other places I've gotten them. The ginger beer taste like it has some type of alcohol or something in it but the bottle drinks are plastic with corn syrup and artificial flavor. The Callalo is very good. The cabbage is under cooked for my liking. The beans and rice is also really good. The plantains were good but I think they use green plaintains verse black. I will probably be back for the greens and rice and beans.
Restaurant is a bit remote from the tourist areas of New Orleans, however it is not hard to get to by public transit.
Had the Jerk Pork with a side of vegetables and callaloo, the food was great.
Delicious Jamaican cuisine! We got the beef patties, fish curry, rice and peas, steamed veggies (cabbage) oxtail, callalloo, brown chicken stew & pineapple ginger drink for about $90. This was enough food for lunch & dinner for a family of 3. My favorite was the brown chicken Stew- so tender the chicken fell right off. Everything was fresh and warm. The restaurant was clean and well kept. Staff was patient and kind.
Ordered large oxtail for 22 dollars was not worth it at all!!! That food could of easily be 10-12 dollars and that’s ridiculous this the third time I tried and it’s the same outcome everytime I’m upset cause I keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but it seems I’m only wasting my money doing so. Small portion of rice Mac and cheese looked as if it was the last of it and they just scrape and gave it to me and don’t even get me started on the oxtail I got only two solid pieces of oxtail the other little things I don’t even know what to call it. I’m dissatisfied as hell and upset whoever is making these plates is not doing a good job at all and you guys need to start doing better people should not be paying 22 dollars for a food and getting 10 dollars worth.
Great good with big portions & flavors. Jerk chicken was perfect, and same with the roti chicken and goat. Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. We'll be back the next time we visit the area
The oxtails were underwhelming and not sweet at all and the gravy was really thick and the meat was tough and it kinda tasted old. The jerk chicken wasn’t spicy at all definitely not what I was expecting at all. But it was still decent if you don’t like spicy food. Wouldn’t come back. Very bland. Do not recommend.
