Got food to carrry out and this is how it was packed. The bread was placed directly on top of the sauce, making the bread complete mush, and upending half of the entire plate. I’m honestly still just like… Gobsmacked by the sheer stupidity of this packaging.
Even more confusing is that one slice of bread was placed in a secondary container. Cool! Except that piece of bread was also, somehow, mysteriously covered in sauce? I’m just trying to understand.
I called, and the employee who answered the phone was considerate and understanding enough, but stated that this was just “the way it was done at this location” as per “the managers rules”. I imagine this is probably a complaint they get a lot.
What a waste of 30$ and 40 minutes of my time. Didn’t even eat any of it because I didn’t feel like wasting my precious caloric output on scraping the pitiful slop from the bottom of my bread. Which, in case anyone was wondering, was barely buttered, obviously.
Oh, also they were out of onions. Which itself is a forgivable sin. But actually kind of pisses me off now after everything I’ve been through.
One of my fav spots in Indy. Hadn’t been in a few years and it did not disappoint. Always consistent and delicious and fast. The drunken chicken and chili cheese étouffée with crawfish is so good. And the French bed is amazing. Highly recommend
I forgot to take a picture because I ate it up so quick. I’ve never had Cajun cuisine before so I have no frame of reference but it tasted great and very surprised at how affordable it is. Husband and I shared half and half etouffe(?) crawfish and drunk chicken with a bottle of pop each and it totalled to $14. Great find!
Like a lot of places, prices are up, and quality is a slight drop here. The gumbo didn't taste as good as it used to. It had flavor like it was out of a can or jar. It wasn't as thick, either.
Service is always fast and friendly, and there is plenty of space to dine in or out front.
Also, I miss the days of the larger, rotating menu. They used to serve Pozole, Hunter's stew, and a couple of other delicious entrées that ate no longer served.
Always has good food and a comfortable place to sit. I love the vegan chili. Quick & Easy
Great food ???? very good, super fast service, smiling faces on the employees made me feel very welcomed. The atmosphere was great quiet and personal. Mind you, I went at 3:00pm on a sat when the area is super busy. I definitely recommend
An Indianapolis staple. I have been coming to Yats since 2009. In 15 years, I have not had a single negative experience. The owner, Joe, and all of his employees, have always treated everyone that walks through the door like family. The food is an absolute comfort. If you're in from out of town, make sure you stop and eat here. If you live local and haven't tried it, you're missing out!
Got half and half gumbo and crawfish etoufee. The gumbo was great, but the crawfish was so good I wish I’d gotten an entire plate of it. Definitely going to want to order extra bread.
Great portions for an incredibly affordable price. Cheapest place we ate at during our stay in Indy, and still one of the tastiest.
