Best WLM Reviews
We've been by this restaurant many times in recent weeks & have commented how we'd like to give it a try! I have a weekly medical appointment in Charlton, otherwise it's not a town we visit often...living almost an hour away. Yesterday we decided to go for lunch. It didn't look too busy which I liked, because I do suffer from anxiety. It was around 12:30pm on a Tuesday, which I learned from a waitress isn't usually a very busy day for them. We walked in, noticed that they had seating available up at the counter as well as tables & booths, also a few outside options. The overall feel was very cozy & comfortable. We sat ourselves & the waitress came over after a few minutes to take our order. The menu had plenty of tasty choices, including burgers, sandwiches, & more. I like that they had comfort food like pot roast & chicken parmesan. They also offered specials. Our party of 3 adults ordered chop suey, swedish meatballs & a chili dog, along with stuffed pepper soup. We were all very happy with our meals & overall dining experience. Our waitress was friendly, welcoming & attentive. We were happy to discover a nice little place that's new to us. The prices are very fair also, only costing around $40 for 3 adults to have lunch. Portion sizes were plentiful & we brought home leftovers. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're ever in the Charlton area. They also serve breakfast! Highlights of dining here include great home cooked food, low prices, quick & courteous service, in a relaxed setting. Great spot for families, friends, couples, or solo dining.
Small place, BIG on taste!! Not fancy, just good home cooking. We had a very scrumptious breakfast at lunchtime. Large portions. Be aware that they serve only off the breakfast menu on Sundays. Pleasant and friendly wait staff. 4 adults for $55.
Made our way up from NJ after making a beer pickup from Treehouse and what a great find this was. Breakfast was absolutely phenomenal and the people were super nice. Seriously the home fries were out of this world. 100 pct will be back on our next Treehouse visit. Highly recommended.
WOWZER!!!! That’s some seriously good food!! I’ve been searching for homemade corn beef hash that can rival every other diner in the country and THIS IS IT!!! Perfectly cooked, nice and lean corn beef with perfectly cooked over easy eggs. I’ve found my breakfast home.
My wife is equally pleased with perfect pancakes and spinach with cheese omelettes. How could you go wrong with that lineup.
But it doesn’t stop there because Holly is your waitress extraordinaire! This woman is hands down the best waitress around. Friendly and doesn’t miss a beat.
Do yourself a favor and go check out this historic diner. You can thank me later.
I work in the music industry and travel all over this country, and my visit this weekend showed me one of the greatest diner experiences I've had. Excellent service and atmosphere, and the food was incredible. Had the marinated steak tips and THE BEST clam chowder I've ever tasted. Completely blown away by this place. Will be back with a hungry band and road crew next time we're in Massachusetts. A+++
So I would start with atmosphere it was pretty old style nothing too exciting it's a mom and pop environment .
The service was really good The lady that I ordered from was very considerate I ordered a drink which had no syrup in it she immediately got me a can soda excellent. I ordered my food which came out really fast and was given to me everything was mostly clean besides the syrup and she fixed that immediately no problems there.
The food was fairly decent it was not too bad not a lot of flavor and the home fries I'm pretty sure we're deep fried which I'm not a fan of but other people may be. The bacon was pretty decent it wasn't too crispy or to gamey.
The store also does not accept credit cards so you have to get cash which they have an ATM there which charges $1.50. it is unfortunate but I appreciate a small business that tries to keep up with their customers and they provide them with an option.
So to wrap it all up I would say that the diner was a decent place to go and get food. I would recommend that they put a little bit more dedication into cleaning at the end of the day and making sure everything is set up for the following business day. I know unfortunately it takes a group of people to create a task and complete a task and everything was fixed immediately which I do appreciate.
My husband and I stopped in Friday for lunch. The staff is so friendly and our lunch was perfect. We love diners and prefer to eat at one rather than a big restaurant. I am a Hot Dog freak, and the Coney hot dogs I ordered were excellent. My husband had corned beef with 2 over easy and he thoroughly enjoyed his lunch as well. We will come back to have the fish and chips on a Friday. This is a gem for sure.
We ended up here because the other place down the road (won’t say the name as it’s not about that place) was packed and did not want to wait 45 minutes to sit. Much like Carousel Diner in NH , this place is fantastic in terms of food. We got 3 different meals and all 3 were amazing (I highly recommend getting the meat lovers wrap).
The price is fair; but I have some issues with the place. First the booths are very small, I mean I could not enjoy my delicious meal as I was hitting elbows with my wife the whole time. I’m sure a party of one or two this would be okay, but anymore than 2 it is uncomfortable. Our server was a very nice young lady but when I asked if they had sweet tea and she said yes, I expected sweet tea not some raspberry brisk tea. After finishing my tea, I had asked for a refill and placed my glass at the end of the table; she walked by 4 times, got refills for the older couple next to us but ignored mine. I never got a refill so even though I enjoyed my food, I bet it would of tasted even better if I had something to wash it down with. Next there is not much atmosphere, they have a TV on with no volume, you can hear literally everyone’s conversation & to me that’s kind of eh. Lastly aside from all that, this is an issue of mine personally & should not be used when determining coming here unless you have the same problem as me. I suffer from Crohn’s disease & when I have to go, I have to go. They have one bathroom, which isn’t terrible except when there is a line of people waiting. I had to wait 15 minutes for the waitress (the same one who was our server) to get out the bathroom for me to use it. As soon as I got into the bathroom I already had someone knocking needing to go as well. Like I said it’s not a big deal but should be made aware of this if you suffer from any bowel disease.
Overall this is a great place with great food & very affordable. I will definitely be here again.
