So I had lunch here with a family member and first off..the bathroom was awful..so much soap scum and etc..secondly..the tables were sticky and the floors were gross..and they weren’t even busy..the menus had caked on food them..then I ordered wine..the first wine glass had old lipstick on it and the second glass had smudged food on it..my waitress was nice but she was on her phone and very distracted..I had to wait over 30 minutes for my sushi. The only positive thing was the sushi plate had a cute design of a cat and cute paw prints on them that the sushi chef made.. but the cleanliness of this place was awful and 60$ for what? I won’t be returning.
Is this the only sushi place in town? We ordered three specialty rolls Spicy girl, crazy roll, and green dragon. I would recommend them all, but most highly the crazy roll. It was loaded with goodies! The atmosphere was nice and simple. We went on a normal Friday without a reservation and got seated immediately. We look forward to going back! It would be great if they had a “specials” list to ramp up the or specialty roll options.
Second time I have order and they have not even bothered to make my food. Both times I have called 30 minutes before my shift. This particular time the cook was sitting in a booth not doing anything.
Although there are Japanese words on the menu and they serve sake, it’s not good food. Wife had beef teriyaki that wasn’t awful. This visit, I ordered “black pepper chicken” (pictured). What I got was fried chicken nuggets covered in a sauce that tasted like pure sugar or honey. There was no pepper in it. Also, I ordered “Asahi” and they brought hot sake. Since I like sake, I just didn’t ask them to change it.
It had been 5 years since I was here, at that time I had sashimi and got food poisoning soon after. No need to go back again.
I know a lot of people like ordering meat and rice here, smothering it in the yum yum (mayonnaise sauce) and pretending they are eating Japanese food. If that’s you, do it to it.

Food is always good sushi top notch kid friendly good service I recommend the dragon roll lava roll and sashimi platter I get this place like two or three times a week
It’s an overall good place. Sometimes I feel like the hibachi veggies could be a bit better.
One of the best restaurants in Portsmouth! Easy to find, lots of parking, fast table service, and the food is always delicious.
