We have been doing business with Extreme Diesel for 10 years and have never once been disappointed with their integrity, honestly and quality. They might not be the cheapest mechanic in Chico but you get what you pay for folks. Get it taken care of the right way the first time.
I took my truck in three times for the same problem. Not only did they never fix the problem but I just picked it up from them an hour and a half ago with "I don't know" for a diagnosis. Stopped at the store on the way home. And now my truck won't start at all.
Great experience at Extreme Diesel. Originally thought the torque converter was going but they diagnosed the issue quickly and determined new U-Joints and carrier bearing were needed to bring the driveline back to par. They got us in and out of there in the same day so we could get back to work! Big thank you to the staff and owner
Payed to have a lift installed on my dad's 2018 Titan XD, they installed the front coil spacer backwards, then proceeded to tell us that our new truck has been in a wreck, so the tie rod was bent and didn't fit. So I had to pay the shop across the street to replace the tie rod end. Luckily, after pointing out the spacer orientation marks, they were kind enough to fix their own mess up, but all with horrible customer service. If you need anything, go across the parking lot to United Tires and Wheels!!!
No complaints about the work done. Got my truck back with a dent above taillight he said he would get in touch with me to "make it right" never to hear from him again. If you take your truck into them check it before leaving and get insurance info then and there.
Brought my '06 6.0 in with a running rough at part throttle condition. Jason diagnosed it and quoted a fair price for the work. Picked up the truck today. Runs better than when I first bought it! I will definitely use and recommend Xtreme diesel.
Jason and his guys do great work. Had a funny noise coming from my alternator, took it in and they changed it out and noticed my belt was starting to shred. They went ahead and changed that out as well. Great honest guys at this shop.
Really, I give this shop ZERO STARS!!! That just wasn't an option. We took our truck to Xtreme Diesel in Chico, CA because coolant was coming from the radiator cap. They took the truck apart and said it had blown head gasket and that we needed new heads and head studs. He said he hated working on 6.0's and that he would not purchase the parts to fix it. He wanted me to buy the parts and when I asked what to buy refused to recommend anything. We had no choice but to buy the parts as the truck was taken apart and could not leave the shop. The truck stayed at the shop while I researched and ordered the parts. When we received the parts, we took them to him. After fixing the truck, my son drove it home from Chico (45 miles) and immediately coolant was coming from the cap again. We took it back to Extreme Diesel and he said it was a problem with the coolant chamber and the cap, so he did buy those parts and put them in and charged us several hundred dollars for that. My son drove the truck home and coolant was coming still coming from the cap. We called Extreme Diesel and he said it would be a couple of weeks before he could get it in. I decided to take it somewhere else, as he had failed twice to fix the problem. We took it to another shop in Redding, CA.
This shop informed me that the heads were never sealed as he could see the gaps on the gaskets. He said the area was extremely dirty as well. Xtreme Diesel is trying to say that it was a problem with the parts I bought, not the labor that was done. They say there is no warranty because I purchased the parts. I had no choice but to purchase the parts because they refused to. In an email, he said that I declined to buy new heads from the factory because of the cost.
This was a lie. I am financially well off, and I would have purchased whatever they had asked me to fix the truck. He wanted me to purchase the parts, so he didn't have to warranty his work. The shop in Redding used the same heads, studs, ect. and repaired the truck. The problem was the labor performed by Xtreme Diesel, not the parts.
I have asked for a refund for the labor performed and they refuse blaming the parts. This is fraud. What mechanic requires their customers to buy the parts? The answer is a mechanic who doesn't want to warranty their work! If he didn't like working on 6.0's, then he should have refused to take the truck in the first place.
