Very impressed with this family run restaurant! The spicy hot pot soup was incredible - loaded with Szechuan peppers. Apparently, it's a direct import from China. Choose the medium spice, and it was edgy, between too much and just right on the spicy level, so it was perfect. Went with the $88 hot pot package for three people - with 5 meats, seafood, vegetables, rice, the two types of soup and a few apps. The spicy broth alone would bring me back again.
This place is a hidden gem for sure. We came here for weekday lunch and there’s literally just us. They got a large variety of food, and the quantity and quality are both beyond expectation! Their food selections are quite distinguished from other hot pot places, somewhat authentic IMHO. So if you’re looking for something different, look no more. Last but not least, their pricing is unbeatable, especially with Groupon deals! We’re definitely coming back soon.
The food here is excellent, first and foremost. The broth is great, and the meats and food selections are fresh and delicious, and a bit unique. The staff is very friendly and trying their best. That said, I think what needs improvement is just some procedural stuff. Ordering with the paper and marker is okay but kindof confusing. I thought that I could only order 2 rounds, but I think that’s not the case because after my second round they gave me a 3rd marker with a different color. It also wasn’t clear if I could order 2 portions of something at once, but I think not. It would be nice to be able to do that and some more clarity in the ordering process. Also, the sauce bar was running low on some things. Those are the only minor complaints I have.
We tried the hotpot at the restaurant and we loved it. The soup was healthy and they provided a good portion of meat and vegetables. The restaurant is also open until late night which is a plus point. The service and ambiance was good as well. I definitely recommend this place.
We ordered take out the day before so we decided to give dine-in a try. The restaurant location had changed ownership many times over the years. The new owner is doing Sichuan food and hotpot. Overall the food is decent, but the layout of the restaurant is pretty strange and it needs more work to re-organize it better. Service is a bit slow but ok with me. Roasted duck combo is the dish that attracted me to this place.
The chicken broth soup base was very tasty! They also had high quality meats and vegetables. The service was really good too. They filled up the soup whenever it got low and remembered to constantly fill up the water.
I highly recommend the restaurant. Although it is a dine-in-order hot pot restaurant, the price is pretty much reasonable and affordable ($30 - $40 per person after tax). There are many house-special Chinese soup bases that you can't have in other hot pot restaurants. The taste is just authentic. Foods are fresh with huge amount as pictures showed. Besides hotpot, don't forget to try their Burning Noodle from Yibin and Grilled Quail!
Food was okay. Restaurant employees were really nice but need to give more direction to new customers. Also don't get the super spicy option. It was recommended but we couldn't eat it due to the heat. I love spicy food but this was unbearable. The chicken broth had good flavor though.
