Wright stop plaza has fallen a long way down. It's not a very clean place. It seems there are renovations in progress but it's been this way since before COVID so I don't know what they are doing. It doesn't feel safe here
• Kids 12 and under ride free, as long as they are 66” inches tall or less, otherwise you’ll need to get them a free ID from the office located at this hub.
• Tokens are no longer accepted.
• Bench areas outside in the waiting area, and large heaters to help combat cold weather.
• All RTA hubs have an indoor, heated waiting area w/ bathrooms, water fountains, phone and bus pass machines.
• “Transfers” no longer offered, $4 day - pass is the cheapest options for most trips.
• Designated smoking area.
• Various shops inside the building, include a cricket store & farmers market, which are open during normal business hours.
• Pass machines only accept credit cards (no debit cards). Passes also available from the teller window.
• RTA staff and security are always on site.
• Google Maps provides the most accurate bus times available.
This is a bus hub... nobody actually *wants* to be there. The 5 star rating is in comparison to other hubs or cities with busses. Dayton is the only Ohio city that has a hub- let alone the 5 hubs Dayton has. Before we had the bus hub the busses were a hot mess in the street.
The hub has numerous electronic arrival and departure boards that list bus arrivals and departure times. The area is sheltered (from rain or other weather elements) and (my fav) has large heaters shooting hot air from above. There are numerous benches for seating. . There is a food court, cricket store, small grocery store, farmers market (accepts ebt) and bathrooms.
RTA has 5 Hubs in total. This is the main hub but not all busses stop at this hub.
All of the hubs provide an enclosed heated/cooled waiting area, restrooms, phones & security.
All in all, it makes riding the bus the best it can be.
I find it highly disrespectful for anyone especially white people to be sitting directly on the poster of Rosa Park..when no one supposed to be sitting there.. imagine me sitting on her mother's grave
Bus Hub, every bus comes through here. doesn't sell anything but bus cards, buses don't accept tokens or cash, no bus schedules on paper anymore. doors into the building are difficult to get a wheelchair through. but inside they have three large unisex restrooms equipped with handrails. Crowded all day long.
The first electronic app payment method with rta was a rip off. The app had monthly passes expiration dates flaws and you don't get your full month of service. Rta then got the e-cards and kiosk and the service got better. The walk way where the rta busses line up is too crowded. During covid crises there was no bus services in alot of locations and the busses ran every 100 minutes.
Clean Gotten better safe police or security officers convient new systems for fares
More organized place & clean. .waiting for your bus sometimes takes forever as the buses have a delay & the time due never came all I was told you will just have to wait for the next one that's due!!! Seriously waited an hour due to issues, not right by me...however, eventually got on my bus to home! Rta should made it right for me with a pass next time , now they have a app for a pass which you purchase and scan when you get on the bus scan , something new , just want to there & back without delay!!
Can get very congested when busy but can get around and navigate the platforms easily the drivers and the rest of the staff are very helpful and very knowledgeable when you need a question awnesred
