Great little breakfast place to dine at in Marathon. It is small inside so don't be surprised if there is a wait. Our wait wasn't long.
Our food was delicious and the service was friendly. Atmosphere is typical Diner table seating and a bar with chairs. If you mind being around a lot of people in a small space, you may not enjoy this atmosphere.
Great little place to have breakfast near Marathon in the Florida Keys. A nice find using Google Maps. The service was great and the food was good. Plenty of free parking in their lot in front if their restaurant. It is an older place and many locals visit here as well as visitors to the area. We only had breakfast here but would be willing to try lunch.
Don't expect to walk in this place and see lovely decor or white tablecloths. This is your down home, no frills, no fuss diner that serves a decent breakfast. They make the biggest biscuits I've ever seen. I could only eat half of one. I did not try the gravy so I can't comment on that. Eggs were cooked to order, not overdone. Look for the big yellow sign in Marathon.
Stopped in for breakfast 2.24.25 at 1030. The place was packed but we were seated quickly. We oreded stuffed crepes, biscuits and gravy with eggs bacon and sausage. Delicious. Food came out quickly and was perfect. The coffee cups never ran empty.
Definitely a new favorite.
As those that have seen my reviews, I love bisquits and gravy.... Let me tell ya, the biscuits and gravy Lisa served us were THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD, giving them a 9.7 on the Bob Richter Rating Scale!!!
Warning... I ordered the HALF order, and I was stuffed (each homemade bisquit half must been 1.5in thick!!)
We will be going back before we leave the keys!!
And the whole staff was awesome! (did I mention Lisa???) What a wonderful lady!
A fun tiny wooden spoon and greasy spoon. No frills but fast,
food and friendly service. The omelettes and potatoes are hot and the biscuits are big and fresh! The coffee is diner coffee, not strong, food friendly, and the grits weren't as smooth as usual, but it was a holiday and we were happy to have a good breakfast. It's a small spot but good parking and at the busy time you may encounter a wait.
Another diner nearby had the croissant sandwich with egg and cheese, it looked delicious and a lot of tables had iced tea. Everything is made fresh, prices are fair, and it's quick. Don't forget to try the blueberry or banana nut bread!
We were headed home from Key West. We saw this quaint little restaurant that has the vibes of a diner.
It's a very clean restaurant and the staff was very friendly. The food was delicious as well. They used regular eggs to scramble, and the eye white was visible. I had a bacon waffle ???? and 1 egg and coffee. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
My turn off was that the restroom was behind the restaurant. The restroom was clean, so it really wasn't a problem.
Stop in on the way to Key West.
Really enjoyed the wooden spoon with my wife my mother and my aunt. The server that had been there for 35 years was outstanding. The woman behind the counter when we initially arrived asked us to wait outside and our server said don't worry she was setting up a table. It was cold that morning so we were reluctant to do as the counter server suggested. The portions were a little on the small side but tasty nevertheless. It was a nice experience.
