The absolute worst pizza I’ve ever had and completely burnt will never order from here again first time experience and it was so greasy and so burnt I couldn’t even eat it. Neither could my family. I don’t even business serving pizza like that. Disgusting If I could give zero stars, I would.
Staff left my pizza on the bar, and did not let me know my order was ready. Didn’t know it was ready at all. One of the 7 people at the bar(patrons). Told me it’s not a big deal it was only there for ten min. Contacted management. They refused to remedy the situation. Beyond an apology. Was a decent place before ownership changed. Won’t go back to this bar. That was a staple in Columbia. It’s definitely gone down hill. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The bartender was extremely rude. She was talking crap about me to the regulars of the bar. In front of me. Like it was okay. Even though the foods good. It’s not good cold. Was given a lame excuse of why that happened, and ended up eating a cold pizza. That had sat on the bar. Not worth spending your money here.
I went to go pick up my order at the counter, verify the order and the man that was helping me had an attitude. Payed it no never mind. But when he got ready to swipe my card, I noticed something weird so I asked to do it myself, and he had given his self a big tip. so I end up canceling it. And not giving him a tip. He got upset and walked away with the attitude.
Went back a second time because I really like the pizza. Totally different person. Try to do the same thing. So be mindful when you swipe your card, if they’re tipping them self or not. Next time only going to use cash.
Carry Out or Delivery Only (no dining room).
Since they advertise that they are Chicago style pizza, I tried a large deep dish with pepperoni and bacon bits as well as an order of cinnamon sticks. I feel like it was a really good value (a lot of food for a good price) and that the food was really good. I didn't want to give it 5 stars because I've had deep dish pizza in Chicago and it wasn't quite that, but I would recommend giving them a try. This is the closest thing that I have found in Columbia MO to a good Chicago Deep dish.
They also have another style that sounded good but I haven't tried yet where they put crust on top and bottom (like a pie). And have cheese and toppings inside and some on top. The description of it sounded like so much food and sounded a bit intimidating over the phone, so I stuck with the Chicago style.
The cinnamon sticks were just okay. They were on pizza crust and were dense and dry. The cinnamon was maybe baked on, because it didn't seem like there was any butter or other oil holding it on. I thought they were fine and you get a lot of sticks for a good price. But next time I probably won't order a large (I was feeding 4 people and we only ate about half of the sticks).
They have a good deep dish but I have been trying to order delivery and the last 3 times I tried was told they dont have a driver. This place used to rock, they were a lifesaver for my husband who was in the hospital for a month and would miss dinner getting tests done, we would order delivery and they would deliver up till 2am. Now I can't even get a pizza delivered at dinner time on an average Thursday!
They have an excellent deep dish, among other great offerings.
It's too bad you can't ever order any of it for delivery because not only do they seem to rarely have a driver, but they also have online ordering from Doordash turned off 100% of the time as well.
If anyone from Wise Guys is reading this, please know:
1. You're trashing the name of a great pizza place that a lot of people enjoyed long before you bought it.
2. You are losing money hand over fist by not at least letting people do online ordering through Doordash, if you won't hire more drivers yourselves.
Pretty frustrating, but I am sure the folks over at Shakespeares, CiCis, Dominos, and many other places don't mind a bit. You'd be getting a lot of their business if anyone could order the delivery advertised on your site.
I grew up in Como! My family and I love Wise Guys and have been eat their pizza for years!!! Best Pizza!! Highly recommended!
I had issues with Wise Guys back in the day with the old owner. But things have gotten so much better. Tonight the guy who took my order, made my pie, and checked me out was so chill and polite and really cared about making sure I got my money's worth. The results were great, I almost ate the whole large myself in one sitting (don't tell my doctor).
